WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE??

GROWING UP IN THE 70'2 AND 80'S, I WAS ALLOWED TO WATCH BOTH SHOWS EVERY DAY AFTER SCHOOL.

WHAT NEW ADVENTURE WOULD WE GET TO SEE THIS TIME.

THEY USED TO SPLIT UP THE VERSIONS WEEKLY.

LION FORCE ONE WEEK, VEHICLE TEAM ANOTHER.

I HAVE ALWAYS FAVORED THE VEHICLE TEAM ALOT. ALTHOUGH YOU CAN FIND MORE THINGS FOR THE MORE POPULAR LION FORCE, THE VEHICLE TEAM WERE THE SLEEPER VERSION OF THE FAMOUS ANIME INVASION.

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION??? LET'S TALK ABOUT IT HERE......

It saddens me to say that I honestly cant remember.
I really need to do a google and read up on it all.
Better would be to watch them again but I dont know where you can get the videos and I dont really want to order them online.

Vehicle Voltron Rules!

I watched both voltrons too growing up. I definitely preferred the vehicle version.

If I remember correctly, the vehicle version was Voltron I (the original I guess) and the lion version was Voltron III. I got this info from the toys at the store I had when I was a kid. They had a Voltron II that was pretty lame, it was just three robots that combined into one. But the other Voltron toys were great, I wish I knew what happened to them.

I preferred the vehicles over the lions because the lions cartoons seemed to be a bit cheezier--it was too predictable. The vehicles series seemed a bit darker.

I downloaded a bunch of episodes off of the p2p networks. They are all lion ones though...

 

I was always fascinated by Voltron II because it never made it to the American airwaves. It's original name in Japan was Albegas.

Although both Voltron series had pretty much the same ending (Voltron victorious with the Blazing Sword), the Vehicle stories had more depth to them. I also liked that Hawkins and the Voltron Force were on a serious mission to find a new home for their people. The Lion Team was all about self defense for the planet. That's just not as exciting. I also liked the amount of characters on the Vehicle show. (And what boy watching Vehicle Voltron didn't have a crush on Ginger, huh?)

Good memory! That was a while ago, but I think I actually had dreams about Ginger. She would pick me up in her jet, we would fly away to some remote location on the planet, and... :anime:

Yes, I did have a life. You just can't help some of those things, you know?

I think Sven should dump Romelle, join the Air Team, and get it on with Ginger. That would be a good story arch!

Vehicle may have been cooler, but as for stronger, I may have to disagree.

If I remember correctly (and Sven will correct me if I am wrong), Vehicle Voltron had a limited amount of energy when in the robot mode. He needed to do his thing quickly or they would have to seperate and recharge.

I don't think the Lions had that limit. Some of there adventures had them in the robot mode for longer periods of time.

That would make the Lions Stronger then Vehicle Voltron.

But what about weapon strength? I think thats what Zanza meant more than overall strength.

 

I think we're talking stamina here, and not strength. I think fighting toe-to-toe, Vehicle would mop the floor with Lion. But Vic is right...the Vehicle ships have to recharge on the Explorer, so in a marathon, Lion would come out on top simply because Vehicle would have to disassemble and go recharge.

Toe to Toe, I think they are pretty even on the weapons side.

They each have their unique weapon on top of the usual sword, throwing star(blades) etc.

 

Is there ever a scene where we can get a rough estimate of weapon strength, like a weapon hitting an asteroid, or building, or anything?

 

I'm not to sure about Lion getting that beat by Vehicle. We have all seen the Lion Force take some serious pounding and still come up to win.

I would call for a draw if the two battled each other.
