    Oi, may the people who study or know japenese post a couple of common used words, phrases in anime or in every day life, and state their definitions : (you don't have to post a lot of words just some, and I prefer some phrases)

    So far the words I recognise in japenese are:

    Kawaii: cute
    Arigato: thanx
    gomen: sorry
    Shojo: girls
    Shonen: boys

    chara: characters
    baka:idiot (how can I forget this word [ [IMG]])
    obi: the cloth that is wrapped around the waist in a kimono

    That sums up most of em' Skuld, arigato [IMG]
    There's a few more I must add though:

    oro : Hmmm
    koban wa : Good Evening
    ooi : hey
    daisuke : I love you
    nani : what
    minna-san : everyone
    yare yare : oh well or whatever
    doushite : why
    Saa : damn (had to include that one [IMG])

    nyo/nyu/gema/pyo : these are all words from Digi Charat, and I'm not sure what they mean. Except Japanese words with 'nyo' in them usually have to do with the urinary system [IMG]

    -------
    maybe we should go into the meaning of DBZ names [IMG]

    name suffixes
    (Usually when referring to someone else, you'll attach one of these - unless you have a close relationship with them)

    chan - someone younger than you (or to a friend)

    dono - an older term of high respect (becoming out of use...)

    ko - like kun (below), but between girls (not very common)

    kun - someone who is your buddy (like chan, but more often used between guys)

    sama - for high respect (such as honorary members, or royalty)

    san - respectful title (or someone older than you)

    sempai - someone older than you that you envy and follow around

    sensei - teacher (can be said without attaching a name as well)

    Gohan - Steamed Rice
    Krillin - Chestnut
    Oolong - Literal for Black Dragon (Wu Long), a type of black tea (Oolong tea)
    Shao and Mai Their names combined, "shao-mai" is a dim sum dumpling dish

    I'm apalled, That Guy!! You left out the most important one of all ...

    PURAZUMA = Plasma
    Pantsuu = Pants
    Zan = Slay
    Shi = Tragedy
    Ten = Earth
    Chi = Heaven
    Hoy = Hey
    Batsuro = Fate

    By the way, a quick check into my dictionary has told me that hentai means the following: pervert, abnormality, formation, transformation, or metamorphosis. The popular definition, or the one you will see in the typical anime glossary of terms, will mean porn, or, more specifically, anime porn.

    It's been a while since I looked it up, but I'm pretty sure that pantsuu is just pants in general. I could be wrong, though.

    Anyway, it's time to show that I'm just a Teenage Dirtbag, baby.

    Chitsu = vagina

    I actually only found that one out so I could call a friend of mine Chitsu-chan to insult him without him knowing it. I got a few others calling him that for a while too ...
