This really blurs the line between movie and game, but since the discussion itself is about the movie itself, rather than the game shouldn't it be slotted into the movie catagory?

Meh, we'll see what the admin demi-gods say.

I'm not too sure how they're going to make a Halo Movie that pertains to anything involved with Master Cheif simply because his Saga is so damn long. My best guess that this movie will be some side story in the Halo universe (like the new Doom movie). I havent read the Halo novels but apparently Master Chief wasn't the only Spartan to survive. According to the books there were a few others stationed elsewhere.

But this is all third party information. I may have my facts wrong.

At least they got one of todays best modern directors on the Job. I can't think of anyone better than Peter Jackson to do this.

Kinda makes me angry though. There needs to be a Hobbit Movie and the only one I would like to see directing it would be Peter Jackson, but here he is doing Halo... Pssh.

Well, WETA is one of the best fx companies on Earth, at least we get them.

As far as PJ goes, this doesn't necessarily mean that he'll get to do a lot of input, but I'm sure as it's bloody Peter Jackson, he'll get to do quite a bit of input.

    Hopefully.

Gamepsot did a little article on this it ended up, being 'bogus' meaning not going to happen.

Isn't Peter Jackson too busy with King Kong remake?

Gamespot: Yes, there was an article saying it was bogus... that Jackson would direct. Then 2 weeks later a new article came out confirming Jackson would be an executive producer.

King Kong: Uh, King Kong is almost ready to be released. Halo isn't even in preproduction yet.

I can only hope that it'll be a horrible, horrific bomb. It's a shame Uwe Boll or Paul Anderson aren't directing.

You go to hell! You go to hell and you die!

Oh and in exchange for your wish of bombing, I hereby hope your entire life is a bitter cesspool of despair and defeat. :)

They let Paul W.S. Anderson get his filthy, greedy, money-grubbing paws on Alien VS. Predator and Resident Evil...

They allowed Uwe Boll to utterly RAPE House of the Dead and Alone In The Dark and are proceeding to let him do Bloodrayne and Hunter: The Reckoning...

They cast THE ROCK to play in the Doom movie...

    My life's already there, bub.

Which were pretty fun films given the subject matter. Could they have been better? Yeah, but it's nowhere near as criminal as you make it sound.

I'm well aware of what Uwe Boll has done.

Yeah because Doom has always been about plot and such a film deserved Sean Connery as the Doom Marine.

Oh you poor delicate flower, I had no idea that movies such an impact on your life.

Edit: Seriously, hoping for it to bomb for no apparent reason is pretty shallow and immature.

    And in reply to that...

Peter Jackson has already enstablished himself as a director who will not release a movie he is not 100% satisfied with. If King Kong does well then it's a safe bet that the Halo movie will do just as fine.

I don't have high hopes for any (read: ANY) game to movie conversion these days. Resident Evil, AvP, Tomb Raider, Street Fighter, Mario Brothers (lol!), etc etc...

Not to mention all those crap movies Uwe Boll directed...Makes me wanna sit down och cut my wrists with an eraser.

But who knows, if Peter Jackson will become the director, or whatever his role in the movies are, it would be ok. As long it's not Uwe Boll...

Just once can't we all just suspend our feelings of doubt and simply hope, just hope, that maybe, some day, someone will come along and make a Video Game movie that kicks ass?

If PJ can't pull it off, then there' no hope for anyone else.

As far as Video Game movies are concerned it's just been a slow evolution. At first we started with Street Fighter and Super Mario Brothers (prehistoric era), then we've evolved into Tomb Raider, RE, (ice age) ect. We're slowly advancing into a more "modern" era where the movies based upon games will be able to stand side by side with other full motion flicks (and not suck.)

Frankly I consider anything by Uwe Boll to be the "Dark Ages" and like the first Dark Ages, will pass into a glorious Renaissance (when he retires/dies) where VG movies will kick ass and make money. If we can get Joss Wheadon to move on to greener pastures as well then the Movie Industry as a whole would be better off.

Wait, so you're saying that you didn't like Resident Evil? C'mon, it's zombies, who doesn't like zombies? AvP wasn't terrible, in fact I liked it a lot (except for the ending). Tomb Raider... No comment. Mario Brothers... :D <--- I think some of them aren't the best, but hey, the game to movie conversions sure beat movie to game conversions.

Edit: This is my 400th post. What a n00b I am.

Uwe deserves to be castrated so that he can't breed more horrible movie directors.

If I wanted to go and see zombies, I'd go and see Night of the living dead, Evil dead, Dawn of the Dead, Stacy - The attack of the highschool zombies, Wild Zero or Shaun of the dead.

Hey, I got no problem with that. I've seen Shaun of the Dead, and I think it's the greatest movie I've ever seen. Still I think the zombies in Resident Evil (both of 'em) looked very good.
