Gundam Lost

i am utterly and completely lost.
i have recently borrowed Gundam W (my first gundam series).
i have watched to episode 14.
and i am lost.
i dont get the storyline.
like, all i see is the gundams killing all other robots, and then there is helmet head and his robots taking over some other ones. now, who exactly is the bad guys?
who is helmet head team trying to take over?
who was relenas dad?
where are the gundam pilots from?
wat are "colonies"?
who does helemet head work for?

if anyone can answer these questions, i would really apreciate it.

note: i wanna keep this thread spoiler-free as much as possible, ok?

 

the colonies are like space-stations where ppl live.
there are no real bad-guys, it's all opinion really,
the gundam pilots are all from colonies, diferent ones, and the all have diferent nationalities too (that bit confused me)
is Zechs the helmet head u mean?

 

Dont worry too much,Gundam Wing really didnt have a story.


Anyway to answer some of your questions


-The "bad guys" of the series are known as OZ.
-The helmet guy is Zechs Marquis,he works for OZ for the most part.(I would get into details but those are spoilers)
-The Gundam Pilots come from the colonies.
-Colonies are basically huge cities in space,where some of Earths population now lives.

 

why is OZ killing the other guys?
not the gundams, the OTHER guys.
like the ones with all green machines. with guns. u know?
and zechs is helenas brother, yeah?

 

I know how you feel. When I first started watching the series it took me a little bit get used to the plot/story. But I caught on and hopefully you will too.

-OZ is trying to take over the colonies.The "other guys"are people opposing this.
-Zechs is Relena's brother,Zechs is a codename,his real name is Milliardo Peacecraft.

 

Ok...I'll try and summarise the story u've watched so far.

The colonies are basically massive space cities which are also populated just like earth. But the colonies see the earth alliance and the OZ cooperation as a threat because of their massive production of moblie suits. As a result the colonies agreed to wipe out the mobile suit production on earth and thus 5 colonies created special mobile suits of their own called 'Gundams'. Although these gundams have the same objectives, the pilots don't really know each other because they are from different colonies.
Zechs Marquise (helmet head) is part of OZ and is basically the supreme pilot in the OZ force. Theres also Luzresia Noin (female Lieutenant who normally follows Zechs around) These two work under Treize Kruzenada and her assisstant Lady Une. Basically OZ wants to take over the earth and dominate all mobile suit production under thir ruling, which they do quite early in the show. When Heero (pilot of the Wing 0) blows up the plane carrying the pacifist leader of the earth alliance who was discussing peace with OZ(not Releena's dad), OZ (who has firmly established their ruling on earth) uses this as an excuse that the Gundams are trying to re start the war by these Gundams. As a result the earth and colonies hate them as they think they've started the war again.
Releena Peacecraft at first is noting much more than a person understanding people's mind or watever. Her dad is a diplomat believing in Pacifism. He was assassinated by OZ has they see him as a bad influence, and thus Releena takes over his place and continues to believe in pacifism.
I hope this clears up some blocked holes in your brain, if you like it...this can be one of the best Gundam series as many would agree.
