I love my LOTR Extended Edition. :)

Anyway, spoilers... hmm. The extended scenes are mostly character development, really. A couple battle scenes are extended a little bit. Also, a big chunk of the beginning is different, with more background info on Hobbits.

Basically more stuff from the book they wanted to put in.

All the daggers, and food they used in the second came from a added scene in the first.

Hmmm, well the extended version came out in early November, the same day as Episode II infact. Mine cost 24 dollars, but then you got a free ticket for the must-see Two Towers, so it was really a worthy purchase that technically cost about 17 dollars.

Mine was something like 98 bucks Canadian, and was the 5 disk set that came with those cool bookends.

I've decided to wait until they release the Return of the King. I'm guessing they might pull a Lucasarts stunt and have somthing special for the whole version.

Just a note, in the battle of the Hornburg, when the Uruk-Hai were lined up in front of the walls hooting, hollering and jumping up and down. Did anyone else think that they looked like a bunch of Raider fans?

I loved the extended version much more than the first version that came out.

I'm planning on waiting for the extended version of TTT to come out and buy that instead. :D

The extended version rocks so much . . .

I watched through the director commentaries on the movie. These disks have so much material on them!!! I don't know if I'll ever bother to sit down and watch it all.

I also wonder how long the extended TTT will be!!

I'm not sure but Peter has already commented saying he will be adding in a long scene that takes place with Pippin and such. He said it was a very funny scene, but they cut it out, and some other scenes to keep the movie flowing under just 3 hours.

I have had it. I bought the original and than I found out from that that there will be an extended version. I talked my mom into getting the extended version which was 20 or 25 bucks at Costco. I have seen that there is an even more extended 5th disc version that also comes with someking of figurine (kind of toy), I think it is a tree. Did anybody get that one? If so, what is on the 5th disc?
