    And just to cover my base, I'm warning you, these are *really* bad dubs... proceed with caution, I'm going to make up some comparison tracks from my dvds and try to get them posted as well, not that there's a comparison anyways...

    Haruka - not bad, but not Haruka...She's too energetic for the character

    Kaolla - I have to admit, I was thrown at first...but regarding her country, the accent fits...if only she sounded younger, she'd be perfect.

    Keitaro - Awful! Too whiny...and can't even pronounce his own name! :p

    Kitsune - Were y'all on crack when ya picked this l'il ol' numba? Oh man, these clips are getting worse each one I go thru...

    Motoko - One word. Over-acting.

    Naru - umm....she's almost okay, actually.

    Shinobu - she almost sounds too much like Naru, but that's my only real beef...

    Hmmm....off and on...I'd stick with the subs...

    I agree with your assessments pretty much. Kaolla bugged the crap outta me though. And just think to yourself [sugary voice]Shinobu's special pary menu[/sugary voice] a couple times, and maybe you'll hat that clip as much as I do too. Personally, I saw no redeeming qualitites in any of them.

    My serious objection to the casting: Kaolla. From what I understand, the dub actress for Kaolla did Faye Valentine in the Bebop dubs. Why didn't she stick with Hayashibara characters and do Haruka? No, she had to miscast herself as Kaolla (as I understand, she was in charge of the casting) UK or YK can fill in the details on this..

    Unfortunately, dubs are probably necessary for an anime to gain broader acceptance, and this dub ensures that Love Hina will never be taken seriously. Though with its plot, that may have been impossible.. dunno.

    i think for most anime's you have to take a vow never to watch the dub, for it to be taken seriously :)

    with a few noteable exceptions.. like dragonballZ or yu-gi-oh, which I like the dubs off.. and i've not seen much/any subbed versiosn

    I think everyone should just never see dubs of some things. Pretend they dont even exist or something!!! >(
