Video Games Love Hina to the states.

I was reading the Gamefaqs boards, and people wanted to email konami to bring Love Hina Gojasu: Chiratto Happening!! to the states. So I wanted to help them. They said they needed as much people as they can, and I think this is a good cause, though it might not work, why give up before trying? Email

As was pointed out in the thread you linked to, I'm not sure I'd want a Love Hina game with dubbed voices. I'll hold out for the slim chance that there is a fan dedicated enough to patch it, and that it is even possible to do so.

Though if people want a dubbed game..

I agree with MamiyaOtaru there. Even though it's Love Hina, I don't think it will be as good as the orignal game voice actors/actresses.

It would be nice to see it come over here.And perhaps they could add a dubbed/subtitled option where you can choose.

 

This is a topic for another thread, but:
Why would I want to hear voices done by horrible actors with no emotion and 12 year old characters voiced by a 32 year old with a grating falsetto? Why wouldn't I want to here the voices with their original inflection, as done by respected VAs?

The unfortunate truth is that VAs in America suck. There is a damn good reason too. In other countries, there are good VAs who dub all the hollywood movies. That doesn't happen here. There are no voice-over actors involved with mainstream entertainment here, only with fringe stuff like anime. Dubbing is just not a well developed art here.

It does work better in other countries. In Germany, I was delighted to watch a Cowboy Bebop episode the spoken words, and didn't cringe at the voices. They do well over there, they have practice dubbing Hollywood movies and American sitcoms.

Like I said, here in America the majority of the population never sees foreign stuff. Small audience = lower budget = bad actors (generalization, but watch any english dubbed anime and tell me it's wrong)

In short: we don't like dubs because the acting sucks and makes our ears hurt.

So, unless there is a dubed/subbed option (very good idea btw) there's no way in heck I'd want to play it.

 

That's not true with all video games, at least. I mean, Final Fantasy had a great cast. Okay, I can't even type that without laughing.
Not all American voice actors are bad. The developers just don't go the extra mile. Consider, if you will the dub of a nice game like Xenosaga. Good acting there. On the other hand, consider a thirty minute comercial like Yu-Gi-Oh, in which the actual show doesn't matter so long as the merchandise sells. The trouble is that too many people are willing to buy the crap just because it's their favourite franchise. You're right, though. This is a topic for a different thread.
Anyway, if the choice is dubbed or not at all, I would take the games dubbed. I don't have the capabilities to play or understand Japanese games, and likely never will. However, a bilingual option is always appreciated. The Bouncer did it. So did .hack. Why can't other games do this as well?

 

well i prefer lousy voice perfomances instead of reading every single thing they say, besides, i dont like japanese, they speak forever and all they said was something like "thanks"...:glazed:

anyways i'm not planning to buy love hina, there are other great games im expecting, Super Mario 128, Resident Evil 4, the new 007(dont remember the name u_u)....so let them do whatever they want to do
