M2A Evolution

    Hi all -

    First off, welcome to the new categories - it took a while to get around to this, mainly because it is so tricky to classify the forums we had already, but we've had a little push because there is a rebrand coming to M2A shortly.

    To expand the scope of M2A, we are going to shortly rebrand as boards.jp, giving a full set of Japanese boards (not just anime and manga). We've been going this way for a while, and it seems like the next evolutionary step for the site.

    The categories will be fairly fluid over the next few weeks as we try to settle down, but I'd imagine the top level ones will remain as Anime, Arts, Business, Computers, Games, Recreation, Science, Society, Sports - or some combination thereof (see DMOZ categories).

    There's also been a few cosmetic forum name changes:

    Announcements / Celebrations -> Events (Now we can organise some meetups and birthday celebrations :D)
    Fiction / Writing -> Creating Writing
    Miscellaneous -> Recreation
    Otaku Tech -> Computers
    Reviews -> Anime Reviews (under Anime)

    Thanks for your patience, and we've created some new forums to aid with the transition. Support / Suggestions has split into two forums - Help for your current problems with the site, and Feedback for any ideas you may have for our future development. These can now be found under the System menu up top (better name to come hopefully!).

    It takes a little getting used to, but now I guess I do prefer these changes to the previous version.

    With the soccer forum...you have just made me the happiest man alive lol.

    There is only one thing i love more than anime and that is soccer. Looks like ima have to spend the whole night there.... :catgirl:

    I second that. There are certainly enough quizzes under recreation as it is, and new personality quizzes are being posted all the time. Granted, it may not be the most in depth forum at m2a (boards.jp...w/e), but it would save some room on the misc. forum for other threads.

    There isn't a "General Sports" Forum, or something similar. Anything that isn't Soccer or Baseball apparently doesn't go in there.


    This is all that needs to be said concerning a Quiz Forum.

    boards.jp has begun! You've probably noticed the changes to the forums and the main page - still have to complete transforming the gallery albums, the members webspace and some other sections - but hope you like!

    I dono about it. It will definatly take some getting used to. There is alot i like and some stuff i dont like. I do, however, like how it is much more organized and neat.
    Couple questions;
    Will the web address change?
    What does the Kanji Symbol in the corner of the main page mean?
    Whats changing in the galleries?

    I think thats all. . . o_O;;

    Overall pretty cool.

    Some answers:

    • The web address has already changed, but the old one(s) will continue to work!
    • The galleries should remain as is, but I'd like to integrate the user/pass with the forums if possible (same for the web hosting).
    • The kanji means boards.

    like all different languages we all speak, since boards.jp is really diverse so we could contain spanish, french, german, korean, and basically anything else that several people speak so we can help each other and recruit other people to other languages

    I think that would be an Awsome idea! There are so many different cultures or races on Boards.jp . . . (still getting used to it-_-;; ). . . . It gives people a chance to get involved with other cultures besides just Japanese. A little more diverseity on the site. I dono. I think it would be cool. ^____^
