RPG Archives Maelstrom of Fate - Sign-Ups

Deep in the strand of time and space, a maelstrom rages. One of many colors, forms, and auras. Everything that has existed in the knowledge of the overall dimensional body as we know it, though nobody actually knows about it.

This point in the time continuum is where all creation meet. And it is about to break apart, forcing all creations to be scattered, their forms bastardized by the sheer force of such an incoming wave. The maelstrom has seen this. It has forseen it. And now it knows what it must do.

Worlds and multiverses, formed by many imaginative minds. Every time one extends his thoughts beyond the norm, thousands of these worlds are made. However, many of them die as the ideas wane and wander in one's mind, finally dissipating into nothingness, the forgotten, the ignored.

These worlds, though nonexistant in memory, exists in the maelstrom. Their instability has, in turn, made the maelstrom unstable. To upkeep its own stability, the maelstrom had to make those 'incompletes' true by distilling similar, complete worlds into them to lessen, but not nullify the strain. Thus it is made. However, now the strain of incomplete worlds are too great.

The maelstrom has frantically lashed out, in the attempt of gathering beings to dispel the curse of these incompletes. The strands of fate are out and about, and like a spider web, they will catch those who are unaware..

This is a world-travelling sort of RP, though the characters need not to haev the ability. And the time era is infinitely extended... one can have a caveman while another can have a futuristic general. However, balance will always be kept, if not by common sense then by the 'wizard who did it'. :d

Though worlds of both my design and worlds that we already know from games and shows and books and such will be used, know that I prefer game and original worlds... I haven't watched enough comprehensive anime to go there... yet. ;P

Biography - After she was forced to live as a hermit since she refused to marry someone she was arranged to marry. She has lived among another village of many other knowlagable people and knows many things, like farming, weaving, and other useful things of that era.

Description - Brad is a five star general, in command of the One Hundred and Twenty Third Armada stationed at Draconis Prime
Biography - Brad was born on a 23rd century Capitol Ship, his mother and father, both Generals in the Military, he was raised in the military and eventually joined and quickly rose up the ranks. His parents were murdered two years after he reached the rank of 2 star general. He has spent the years since building an armada to find and kill his parents murderers.
Time Era - Futuristic
Homeworld - Draconis Prime
Equipment/Quirks - Brad carries an MA5B Assault Rifle slung over his shoulder, he also carries an M6D Pistol and a six inch knife attached to his belt. He has four M9 HE-DP Grenades, four Flashbang Grenades, and four Smoke Grenades attached to his belt.

Weapons
M6D Pistol: 12.7 mm, semi-armor piercing, high-explosive rounds, 12 round clip capacity.
MA5B Assault Rifle: A gas-operated, magazine-fed, fully automatic assault rifle, fires continuously, but is much more accurate in short, sharp bursts. At the top a compass points to North, and a little display also shows you how much ammo you have left. 60 round clip capacity.

Draconis Prime: Draconis Prime is a Military world, roughly half the size of Earth. It is covered in military instilations, half of its surface is covered in defensive systems and ship building ports. The other half consists of Baracks and training facilities for the troops that are stationed there. The planet has two moons, each has a docking port placed on them where the bulk of the fleet is docked. There is a large ring that surrounds the planet that has a total of 512 long range artillery cannons on it.

Name: Alexis the Knife
Age: 21
Race: A mongrel breed, a cross of human with something else
Description: He wears heavy clothes, usually of dull or dark colours. His eyes are a fierce gold colour flecked with black. His hair is black, and falls straight in clumps to just under his ears. He has some scars dispersed around his body, the most notable of which is a cluster of 7 intersecting lines on his shoulder, which looks deliberate. He's rugged, and it would seem that he has a tendency to stare.
Biography: Alexis was a foundling, which is why nobody is especially sure of his heritage. He was raised in a rural encampment that consisted mostly of warrior-folk and their wives. He often got into fights that he could not win as a child, always wanting to prove himself.
Later on in life, he took to wandering, as most do, and lived alone wherever he went. He could sometimes be found in cities, stocking up on supplies or having an argument.
Time Era: Steampunk
Homeworld: The Rankan Empire (As created by Robert Asprin for 'Thieves' World' and 'Tales from the Vulgar Unicorn'. More details as requested.)
Equipment/Quirks/Etc.: As his name suggests, Alexis carries a weighted blade about 1'3" long. He wears a thin metal breastplate beneath his clothes and always looks as if he's sizing people up, spoiling for a fight.
His gaze is always insolant, and he doesn't take orders well. He prefers to take control in any given situation rather than leaving decisions up to others. He's disagreeable, but has a cutting sense of humour at times.
Occasionally, he'll take a shine to someone, and would be willing to defend them to the death. He's a good person to have as a friend. He's a bit of a skeptic, but in dire situations, he has the grit to survive. 'Never say die unless you're talking about your opponent' is one of his favourite phrases. He's pretty sharp, but he has very little social skills, and tends to take things the wrong way sometimes.

Race - Dragonbeing
Description - He usually wears ancient grey samurai robes. He has light green hair tied in a ponytail, and has deep blue eyes. He is very thin, and stands at 6' 2".
Biography - He once belonged to a wealthy farming family in the plains of New Earth before they disowned him when he wanted to pursue a life of a pilot. He soon lived the dream, but the time was short lived. He accidentaly caused an atomic leak in a reactor in a remote system of the Milky Way. The resulting explosion caused 1/8 of the galaxy, including New Earth, to be annihliated. Ever since then, he has been on the run from the surviving colonies of the Galaxy Massacre, as it was soon called by presses.
Time Era - 4072
Homeworld - New Earth (deceased)
Weapons - When not piloting his custom made ship, he carries a remake of the 20th-century magnum, which carries an unlimited amount of photon rounds, a 0% kickback from the shot, and is one of the deadliest weapons in the galaxy. He also carries a cross sword, a photon sword with 4 ends.
Personality - He is a dark person. Not dark looking, just something about makes you gloomy. Hills isn't one to really start a conversation. When happy, he is quick to crack off a funny joke. He is noble and honorable, trustworthy to the end

Race - Mystic
Description - Selenity has pale blonde hair that seems to look more like a really pale light than hair and pale skin with dark blue sapphire eyes that contrast dramatically with her pale complextion and gives her a look of timidness and naiveness. She is slender and her hair reaches just past her waist. She wears a flowing gown that is white and reaches down to the floor.
Biography - Selenity has grown up learning the ways of her people to protect them. It is all she knows but she is also self reliant and has a fiery spirit beneath her calm, serene, exterior.
Time Era - Time is parrel's to Earth's time of Renissance and Enlightenment

On 3, when you put 3] Neither, it means that they are even, more or less. Assuming that that's what you want, you may now make your scenario. Since I don't have my stat-gen file (other computer has gone whack), the stats will have to wait a while, sorry. <_<

Name - Ian Cervantes
Age - 28
Race - Human
Description - Ian is about 5'10" and has a lithe build, lean but well toned. His skin is weathered and tanned from being outdoors most of the time. He has a vast wardrobe but tends to don black leather pants and shirt with short sleeves. Buckles encircle his legs to his knees as well as his torso and wrists, within these strapes he keeps various tools. He keeps his black hair short and looks as though he cuts it himself. He also wears metal toed boots that are black and a pair of red tinted googles. He's a talkative, soft spoken, postivive individual that enjoys a got time, but tends to over analyze things.
Biography - He grew up in a bustling port town of Junnon with his parents. Always the unique' one he'd rather spend time tinkering with his tools than with other people. He eventually left his home once he grew old enough and was employeed by the states military, Shinra, to work on proto-type weapons and vechiles.
Time Era - Medieval w/ Advanced Technology
Homeworld - Ansalon
Equipment/Quirks - Ian has the ability to build anything out of almost anything. This gift was the reason for his recruitment into Shinra's developmental area. He carries with him an array of gadgets and a gun powder pistol. He keeps a claymore strapped to his back that he's fairly good with but he prefers to avoid conflicts if he can.
