i personally think ... man it would be raw as carrots if ... the manga was made to the show .. i mean to every last detail rather than the bits and pieces... it would be much more better

i wont give out spoilers but jebus it would rule and it would be sooo ehhhh :D
    what you think?

I'd have to agree. The manga is soooooo nice. The storyline is good (not the predictable one villian, defeat villian, everything is now fine every episode like the anime has). The detail and quality of the artwork is just the bomb too, I haven't seen much that even compares. I'm trying to get um all (strange, this feels like pokemon, with manga instead of fighting animals). The anime would be shorter if they followed the manga exactly (no 200 episodes) and if they did all the effects just right, it would kick ***.

I can understand why they didn't make the anime exactly like the manga. Look at all the movies based on books, most of the story line is always switched around and certain things are added and left out. Heck, your lucky if characters are not added or changed around sometimes. I don't mind, it just means more of the Sailor Moon goodness to get into :p

    **A Couple Of Spoilers**

I luff the manga! I've started reading it a while ago.. I'm only at the Prince Diamond part. Though, I haven't seen anything different from the Anime yet, cept the attack names, that they have masks.. That Venus is REALLY the decoy of the princess, they call her princess and all.. AND! Umm.. They have Make Up! After their transformation names, that's neat! I like better: Mercury Star Power, Make Up! Then Mercury Star Power! Oh and too.. One of the weird sisters captured Sailor Mars..

*sighs* Unfortunately, I've never read the manga, and I've only got to see some of the early episode that they had on TV in my area (we don't even have Cartoon Network were I live, so the episodes I saw were on TV about 5 or 6 years ago). I wish I could see more of the episodes, and I might soon, because they say that soon my town gets the same cable as a nearby town, and the nearby town has Cartoon Network, so then I can watch some more episodes. I wish I could read the manga, but I'm stuck in the middle of Missouri and I have no clue where I could find it at. *sighs* Life sucks...no Sailor Moon...

    Same here.
Well I must say there is a lil kind of cartoon network.. but they don't show lotz of episodes, or they just repeat them, also they dun show much of anime cartoons, like I know other people who know much more characters from other cartoons, but I know only Sailormoon from my favourites I mean. I really don't like Dragon Ball Z , yu gi oh is ok..but I hardly watch it..and can't catch it, plus I have lotz of h/w.
    *sighs*
    Sometimes TV sucks:(

Ahhh, good ol' Teletoon and YTV.

While YTV has simply gown down the crapper, Teletoon still has some great stuff. Sure, it doesn't show much anime, and Duckman is gone, and they've stopped the New Years Anime showings, but theres still some great stuff, like Undergrads and such.

You're both totally off topic.. The question here is if it would be better if the anime was totally based on the manga

I liked the darker edge that the manga had over the anime. It was violent, brutal and downright depressing at points.

    SPOILERS!!!!!!

Like when Sailor Moon comited suicide after killing Tuxedo Mask. That was so moving! I don't think they did that in the anime (i could be wrong its been awhile since I saw the first season!) but they should have. I will say that Jupiter got more story time in the anime than the manga which is important to me.

Anyway, I felt that the anime was too happy at times, it needed some good ol' angst!

oooohhhh, so thats what happened. I have some scattered bits and pieces of the manga, not enough to tell whats going on (well, I do have the manga-novel Princess Kaguya's Lover) so I didn't know what was happening.

They have it in the anime, too. :glazed: At least in the japanese version they do.

    *back on topic*
I think this way's better. Just like Phalanx said, there are more SM goodies to get. [IMG] I have bought 1st, 7th and 8th manga and they totally kick a$$.

I watched some of the Japanese Episodes, I'm gonna buy them from someone soon. But, I saw most of the NA version and they dont have make up, Once in a blue moon They say: Mercury Power Transform! (Transform is alot like Make Up but..) normally they just use the first words without make up. i.e: Mars Power

    *GASP*

    SPOILERS

Princess Kaguya's Lover is MY FAVORITE. It's SO MUCH BETTER than the movie! It made me CRY! Himeko and Kakeru KISSED!

But y'know what makes me mad? That they "dubbed" one part -- when Himeko says that she and Kakeru will go to the moon together (near the end) and she's sort of holding her stomach, she's saying "The three of us will go together."

    END SPOILERS

    Anyway!

If the series were truer to the manga, it would be THAT much better. Seriously. It's just so awesome, and the artwork is beyond gorgeous (it's so beautiful!!).

    Pro-manga-ism all the way!

I prefer the anime, because in the manga there is like ZERO character develpoment. Naoko focused most of her energy on Usagi, Chibi Usa, Minako, Haruka and soemtimes Ami, (and Michiru, with her bad temper :p) Rei had ZERO persoanlity in the manga, same goes with Makoto, Setsuna and Hotaru. Read closely, you'll see what I mean.

I do too. The only problem I have with the graphic novels released in the USA is that they are mini sized so that they fit in your pocket. I with they hadnt been downsized...
