    Based on the classic comic created by Osarnu Tezuka (Astro Boy), written by Japanese anime legend Katsuhiro Otomo (Akira) and directed by Rintaro (Galaxy Express 999), Metropolis is a spectacular film featuring stunning imagery and memorable characters.

    Duke Red is the powerful leader in the tri-level world of Metropolis with plans to launch a highly advanced robot, Tima. However, his violent and mischevious son Rock distrust robots and intends to find and destroy Tima. On the run through the labyrinth world of Metropolis, Tima's life and the fate of the Universe become inextricably , and dangerously, entwined.

    Was this ever shown in the cinema in Europe, or is it going to be?

    I hope it gets shown in Euorpe but probably not because we don't get most god ones like Akira or Macros. :(

    yep, metropolis was shown in the uk, at various independent cinemas, and ugc had a classic movie season which featured akira and metropolis. and theyre sooo good on a big screen! i think france will have had metroplois on a nation-wide release, since they appreciate anime.
