This was " A clash of the titans match" where mexico hosted usa in estadio azteca. The game was very equal until jared borghetti broke the dead lock with a header past the goalkeeper. Then during a counter attack jared passes the ball to antonio naelson and hey scores on the right post. No more goals at the first half. In the second half....usa scored their first goal with lewis i believe and that was how the match ended. 2-1

    So what are your opinions?

(What better way to get 600 posts then by talking about the best sport in the world?)

All i can say is that I saw it coming. USA has an OK soccer team, but it's nowhere near that good. This is because America's main sport is Football (wich in some languages, "football" is also used for soccer) and look like they're not that interested. Eh. I'm going for my own country (Argentina), which i know that will get to the World Cup. I think they beat Colombia today, or yesterday, and are about to qualify (if they already didn't).

MLS is growing rapidly throughout the states...but believe it or not, the USA team was very interested in defeating mexico. According to claudio reyna "soccer is mexicos only sport and the only sport we have pride in and it would be a slap in the face if we beat them at home." So i think that they wanted to win.
The world cup qualifiers are still here so argentina still hasnt made the world cup "yet"...they will though. Im not sure if they will win it though :D

The USA have a rather decent team if you think of it. Freddy Adu, Landon Donavan (Even though I think he's a bit overrated), Andy O'brien (Ajax), Claudio Reyna....

So yeah, the americans can be really good if they work hard :) Freddy Adu will change the american football scene.

It was Argentina vs. Bolivia (2-1) and Argentina is at the top.
Colombia is going to play with Argentina soon. Let's see who's going to win ;)

I remember USA in the last world cup. They stunned Portugal wiht a 3-2 win apart and drew with eventual 4th placed South Korea 1-1.

They are getting good, not quite South American or European standards, but they are certainly getting there. If they do qualify for next year's world cup I would be expecting some flaiir on the pitch.

Who didnt stun portugal yet? Iraq beat them in the olympics...who saw that coming? And USA havent really aquired any good players than the formation that was in the world cup in 02'. Probably only 3 new people are there but thats about it.

Also USA hasnt been able to beat Mexico in any important matches since WC 02'. Mex beat them and eliminated them from the olympics 4-0...and mex beat them again in a world cup qualifying match. They are a decent team...but i say mexico is better
    :D

Teddz, I believe that Freddy Adu is a tad bit over rated. There are 18 year olds doing better in more prestigious leagues than this guy. Its his age that makes him look so good.

Strange how we go to beating a 10-11th place team...and then end up tying up with a 97th place team. That is really weird...

    Mexico vs USA - 2-1
    Panama Vs Mexico - 1-1

US is ranked 10th?! Now that's surprising.

But really, it's all about luck :) Football is a strange sport.

Well I find the US ranked 10 not to be very suprising. I mean after all look how far they made it to the world cup. And also just look at all the players that arent even in the MLS ( like Brian Mcbride..) Mexico on the other hand only has Rafael Marquez in Barcelona...and Im not even sure if he starts. If only my channel would show Spanish Primera for a chance....

I'd say move to Europe, or more likely Sweden. I have one channel that shows all Spanish Primavera matches, Il Clasico tonight! One that ONLY shows football, and those cable networks who show Serie A, Premiership. Oh, not to mention Champions League too.

    Barcelona will win tonight.

    4-2, defeat for Barcelona.

Goals made by Owen, Raul, Zidane and Ronaldo for Real Madrid, while Barcelona had Eto'o and Ronaldhino. 6points gap between them two.

Ouch, I was really going for Barcelona (not really, I was rooting for Marquez). But anyways, 4/30 Mexico will play against Poland. Any opinions on who might win the match?
