CLAMP Works MKR: Seen the OAV?

I bought it. I love it. I love it to bits and pieces. It wasn't funny but it wasn't really meant to be, and though it did have a few (seeming) plot holes, I loved it tons 'n' tons. The mecha fights were more interesting, imho, and as the colors weren't as bright, I found it more... intriguing. (Not to mention that beautiful soundtrack! ^_^)

So. What do you think?

 

I have the first episode of it. on video. bought it at HMV. Don't you just hate it when MANGA puts out only one episode on a video? morons.

 

Guess that's why anime is being released more on DVD than on VHS nowadays. But that's not the point. o.o;

Well yeah, espcially Ferio. The lighting on his face at that scene made him look so sexy.

Nice to see Clef grew up too.

Btw, that's the only reason I buy dvds nowadays. Never tapes.

 

Ferio's personality was a nice change. ^_^ And tall!Clef was... great. ^_^ Especially in that scene where they're running up the stairs and you can only see certain colors. ^__^

 

i have seen it. and its really great. i love the artwork. clef also looks hot when he's tall^_^

 

Yeah, he does, doesn't he? ^_^ I think my only complaint is that they never really explained the what divine test was, though I have my own theory. ^_~

 

I also bought the ovas (3rd one given to me by Suzu *smooch*). Its great, but its mood is very gloomy comparing to the tv series.

hmm i need to watch it again, cuz I cant remember what exactly happened -__-;

 

yup,i agree the OAV is kinda more gloomy than the series....and i also agree that clef is pretty hot when he's tall.

Yes, it's gloomier, and somehow it's more... apocalyptic, in a way, you know? Of course, there were a few unanswered questions, but I still love it. It's now on my top list. ^_^

It is gloomyer but the animation is alot better. I saw mkr the seres one and two before i saw the OVA. I really like MKR two opposed to MKR 1 because ascot is all grown up but i definently like the ova over both cause of Clef and Ferio. Not to metion i draw so i love the animation. :catgirl:

 

i've seen the OAV. its i have to say, quite good though also a bit confusing cuz some things aren't explained(or well). theart is very well,i'm glad they gave clef alot of improvement(he's so hawt). and i also like the art. its kinda like more mature. but it is gloomier unlike the cheery series. but all in all its quite good.

 

I'm one of the biggest MKR fans you'll ever meet - I've seen up until episode 40 - which encouraged me to moderate this CLAMP Forum in the first place. However.. A few days ago, I downloaded the OVAs. After the first two episodes, I couldn't stand watching it anymore.

The changes are tedious to adapt to, everything doesn't make sense anymore! I prefer the art from the anime, except for the 'new' Fuu. Furthermore, Emeraude is creepy x_o;;

I really don't like the changes they made, or the gloomy feel to it. It was a big disappointment to me. For a while, I've pondered discontinuing to watch MKR.

 

It was okay, but I like the actual series better. And the Manga was better than the anime, if you ask me.
