    BATTLE OF THE PLANETS RETURNS!

    Hugely successful 1970's Classic to be released by Mollin Video

    Travel back to a not too distant late 1970's and try to recall a powerful opening music score and a timbre bass voice introducing our heroes. To a world where earth was protected by a gang of five intent on resisting the forces of evil. Of Course! There was only one Battle of the Planets! Mollin Video release the first volume of the groundbreaking 1970's anime classic 'Battle of the Planets' - Attack of the Space Terrapin, on December 4th 2000. Signalling the release of all 85 episodes of the anime classic throughout 2000/2001, the first set contains 4 exhilarating episodes and will be available at the price of £12.99.

    Battle of the Planets tells the story of G-Force, five young orphans with extraordinary cerebonic superpowers whose sole mission was to protect Earth from enemy attack from galaxies far away. Princess, Mark, Keyop, Tiny and Jason watched over by their computerised guardian 7-Zark-7 from Centre Neptune, faced up to Earth's biggest threat - The evil Zoltar, leader of Spectra, whose sole purpose was to destroy G-Force and plunder planet Earth! Aided in their struggle by their ability to transmute and their spaceship's capability to turn into the fiery phoenix, G-Force were Earth's ultimate guardian!

    • Attack of the Space Terrapin: - In the title episode, Zoltar leader of the dreaded Spectra sends a terrifying new weapon -The Space Terrapin- to attack Earth. In the battle that ensues, can G-Force save Earth?
    • The Space Mummy: - On the planet Zarkadia, G-Force are investigating a series of mysterious plane crashes. The arrival of Zoltar and The Space Mummy sees G-Force thrust into battle.
    • The Space Serpent: - Zoltar's Serpent alien machine is intent on destroying all of Earth's oil refineries. A cataclysmic confrontation with G-Force ensues in which there can only be one winner!
    • Ghost Ship of Planet Mir: - Trapped on the Planet Mir by Zoltar, G-Force face one of their greatest challenges yet, as they try and defeat a huge armada of enemy alien craft!

    Battle of the Planets was the groundbreaking 1970's anime that introduced G-Force to the world. Mark, Jason, Princess, Tiny and Keyop, blessed as they were with cerebonic super powers, were Earth's sole protection from the sinister ambitions of the evil Zoltar and the planet Spectra. Aided by the ever-vigilant 7-Zark-7 encamped in Centre Neptune under Earth's seas, and with their ability to transmute and utilise the fiery Phoenix space ship, G-Force were the ultimate protective squad!

    Volume 2: - Rescue of the Astronauts - Two astronauts returning from Mars with valuable information are kidnapped and held captive in Spectra's giant whale submarine. G-Force and the fiery Phoenix face a dangerous mission to rescue the astronauts.

    This volume also includes the following episodes: -

    Volume 3: - The Jupiter Moon Menace - Spectra joins forces with Commander Typhon, who plans to destroy Earth with a giant lobster missile on one of Jupiter's moons. G-Force must find a way to stop the lobster and its flaming meteorites before Earth is burnt to a crisp!

It's now available on DVD! Following the resounding success of Battle of the Planets on VHS, Mollin Video are set to debut the first volume of the groundbreaking 1970's anime series 'Battle of the Planets - Attack of the Space Terrapin' on DVD on March 19th priced £17.99. Hotly anticipated, the DVD will feature extras such as scene access for each episode, intro trailers, character profiles and a historical background. This release is intended as the first step in a proposed plan to release all 85 episodes on DVD format.

    Battle of the Planets, details the adventures of five orphans; Mark, Jason, Princess, Keyop and Tiny all blessed with cerebonic super powers, and their fight to protect Earth from the clutches of the megalomaniacal Zoltar, leader of planet Spectra. It's basic premise of a gang of five acting as a team rather than individually against evil, has proved to be a hugely influential concept and acted as a blue print for innumerable anime.
