Has anyone else seen this show? I have seen episodes 1-13, of a whopping 78! (according to animesuki).

The show is very intriguing and you can't help but like the troubled Dr. Kenzo Tenma. He's good looking too! ^^' Anyways, the show begins with brilliant
Dr. Tenma, who is engaged to the director's daughter and soon up for promotion. The director takes Tenma's research papers and hands it in as his own, and when there are important people who need to be saved the director orders Tenma to operate on them. The first time we see him do this, he was supposed to operate on a man they labelled as a Turk, a workman, but Tenma was ordered to operate on a famous opera singer instead. The operation was a success and the hospital earned great applause, but the Turk died under some other doctor's care. The wife and child of the Turk saw Tenma in the hallway and cried and the woman pounded on his chest yelling "Why? Why!? He was here before the opera singer!? Why did you let him die!?" this moment changed everything for Tenma.

A middle-aged couple were shot dead in their home, the son, Johann was in critical condition, shot in the head, and his twin sister, Anna was in a state of shock, yet alive. Tenma was to operate on the boy, whom he believed only he could save. Yet the mayor fell down ill, and the director ordered Tenma to operate on him instead. The director said that the mayor had promised to give money to the hospital, so it was Tenma's duty to keep him alive so the mayor could fulfill that promise. Tenma made a decision. He remembered what it truly meant to be a doctor again, it shouldn't be political, but saving lives and that alll human lives were equal. Because of this decision, he then had a clear goal in life, once more. But because of this decision, everything changed.

Johann, the boy he saved, was in fact a serial killer. He is the Monster in the story. Nine years later, Tenma is accused of the murders Johann committed and he takes off in search of Johann to kill him and end the Monster's rampage.

Dr.Tenzo is the black haired man, from Japan. The anime takes place in Germany. Johann is the blonde haired guy you see in the last images.

Isn't the anime based on a manga? Anyway, I've heard of Monster before, but I have not been able to find out much information about it. Thank you for reminding me of its existance.^^

I've been reading the manga over the past few months, and just finished a few days ago. Amazing ending.
