I was pretty nervous on thursday last week. I went to Windsor to talk to the social worker at the organization I'll be doing my placement come September. They seemed to like me, so they said it was fine for me to go there. They're pretty understanding too. Most placements expect you to have a car, and considering that it isn't a payed placement, and I can't afford a car, there's no way I can have a car. The social worker there also told me how her first placement they had her assessing families her first week, and there was no way she was ready for that. So, she'll let me go at the pace I feel comfortable with.

Oh yeah, my placement is at the multicultural council. My job will be to set up host families to take immigrants in, to help kickstart their lives in Canada, among other things (the place is really busy, so I'll just wander around and go with the flow, help out where I can). Other things the place does is to teach english/french skills, life skills, how to get a health card... pretty much allow them to have a great new life here in Canada.

This year is going to be insane, I'll still come online and post here when I can of course. I'll have fridays and the weekend off ;)

BTW, I'll be gone the next few days.. Going to see Doug, a friend from high school with BMS and a couple other friends.
