I was just wondering if someone would like to post an exact translation of The Real Folk Blues? Sorry if this isn't in the right place. It kinda fits, right? Japanese translations? Eh.

    -------
    Aishiteta to nakeku ni wa
Amari ni mo toki wa sugi te shimatta
    Mada kokoro no hokorobi o
    Iyasenumama kaze ga fuiteru

Hitotsu no me de asu o mite
Hitotsu no me de kinou mitsumeteru
    Kimi no ai no yurikagode
    Mo ichido yasurakani nemuretara

Kawaita hitomi de dareka na itekure

    The real folk blues
    Honto no kanashimi ga shiritaidake
Doro no kawa ni sukatta jinsei mo warukuwanai
    Ichido kiri de owarunara

    Kibou ni michita zetsuboto
    Wanagashikakerareteru kono chansu
Nani ga yoku te warui no ka
    Koin no omoi to kuramitaita
Dore dake ikireba iyasareru no darou

    The real folk blues
Honto no yorokobi ga shiritai dake
Hikaru mono no subete ga mou konto wa iranai
    -------

If you could give me a at least a line-by-line translation or at most word-by-word, I'd appreciate it!

    got this from here: www.animelyrics.com

    Aishiteta to nageku ni wa
Amari ni mo toki wa sugi te shimatta
    Mada kokoro no hokorobi o
    Iyasenumama kaze ga fuiteru
It's too late to cry I love you.
The wind still blowing, my heart still aching

Hitotsu no me de asu o mite
Hitotsu no me de kinou mitsumeteru
    Kimi no ai no yurikagode
    Mo ichido yasurakani nemuretara
One side of my eyes see tomorrow,
And the other one see yesterday
I hope I could sleep in the cradle of your love, again

Kawaita hitomi de dareka na itekure
Cry for me, somebody, with dry eyes

    *The real folk blues
    Honto no kanashimi ga shiritaidake
Doro no kawa ni sukatta jinsei mo warukuwanai
    Ichido kiri de owarunara
    *The real folk blues
I just want to feel a real sorrow
It's not bad a life in the muddy river
    If life is once

    Kibou ni michita zetsuboto
    Wanagashikakerareteru kono chansu
Nani ga yoku te warui no ka
    Koin no omoi to kuramitaita
Hopeless hope, and the chance with traps
    What is right, or wrong
It's like a both side of a coin

Dore dake ikireba iyasareru no darou
How long I must live till I release?

    The real folk blues
Honto no yorokobi ga shiritai dake
Hikaru mono no subete ga ougen to wa kagiranai
    The real folk blues
I just want to feel a real pleasure
All that glitters is not gold

Hey, thanks for your time, Hitokiri and Sango, but those are the same translations I've found on websites myself.

What I was actually looking for was a line by line translation. I don't know if the grammar of the language renders that impossible or something, but that's what I was really wanting.

    What I mean is, ie.:

    Aishiteta to nageku ni wa
Amari ni mo toki wa sugi te shimatta
    Mada kokoro no hokorobi o
    Iyasenumama kaze ga fuiteru

    ^--- has four lines

It's too late to cry I love you.
The wind still blowing, my heart still aching

    ^--- has two lines

I'd like for the translation to be broken down into the literal line by line of the original. Such as, what does the line "aishiteta to nageku ni wa" literally mean?

I don't know, does that make sense?

hooboy.....i have to warn you that its either VERY literal...or very very vague..sorry about that >_<;; well, here goes nothing!:

Ai shiteta to nageku ni wa
To mourn for a past love
Amari ni mo toki wa sugi te shimatta
Its gone and time has long since ended
    Mada kokoro no hokorobi o
Still the wound of my heart
    Iyasenu mama kaze ga fuiteru
awefully it continues to blow with the wind.

Hitotsu no me de asu o mite
    one eye looks to tomorrow
Hitotsu no me de kinou mitsumeteru
    one eye looks to yesterday
    Kimi no ai no yurikagode
    within your love's cradle
    Mo ichido yasurakani nemuretara
once again i can sleep peacefully

    Kawaita hitomi de dareka naitekure
with dry eyes who will cry for me

    The real folk blues
Honto no kanashimi ga shiritai dake

The Real Folk Blues I only want to know real sorrow
Doro no kawa ni sukatta jinsei mo warukuwanai
in a muddy river a human life soaked, is not bad
    Ichido kiri de owarunara
    this once is the end**

    Kibou ni michita zetsuboto
    wishes are filled with despair
    Wana ga shikakerareteru kono chansu
this chance to challenge a trap
Nani ga yoku te warui no ka
what is good and what is bad
    Koin no omote to uramitaida
its like a coin's surface and backside

Dore dake ikireba iyasareru no darou
which life is the only aweful one**

    The real folk blues
Honto no yorokobi ga shiritai dake

The Real Folk Blues I only want to know real joy
Hikaru mono no subete ga ougen to wa kagiranai
there is no sureness as to all that shines is gold.

    ** = I'm not 100% sure...

    i hope that helped >_<;;

Yay! Thank you, Kaori, for appeasing my curiosity! :D Your help is greatly appreciated and those two parts of which you aren't 100% sure are good enough for me.
