Well, if this is about music, and as you said it can be music NOT from video games, it would probably be best to put this thead into the music section of the forums :).

But I digress: My favorite song would have to be the Smash Bros. Melee version of Mute City. A nice, simple, strong electric melody that always gets me pumped no matter how many times I hear it.

Yeah, that one is pretty good. I have a 9 minute garage band rendition (that sounds clean cut) of Mega Man 2, you can get it at www.minibosses.com . They have a ton of other old school video game renditions as well as a couple of originals. Some of them sound fairly bad because they were taped at a performance with people screaming, and the recorder wasn't that high quality at those performances.

However, I'm still not sure if this topic should be here.... oh well!

Other good video game renditions can be found at remix.overclocked.org. My favorite remixer there would have to be Daknit, Bard of Tarot. He's done some very interesting work with the Sims, Starcraft, and Ninja Gaiden 2.

Megaman 2 had tons of memorable tunes. Woodman's stage had good beat, Bubbleman's was catchy, and the Boss music really riled you up for combat.

Nobuo Uematsu has done superb work in the past with the Final Fantasy series.

I'd say I love Noriyuki Iwadare's work for the Lunar series the best. The incorpoation of the themes throughout and variations are beyond compare. A lot of emotion comes from scenes that are set up with the correct BGM.

In regards to teh topic, try and keep the discussion to Video Game music. Allowing all music is a bit broad, and better suited for the other forum.

Try out the remixes on that site called:

    The Atomizer
    Terra in Black
    Black Crystal

All of these are in the FFVI section of OC Remix, they are really nice renditions, that have gotten pretty high regards from DJ Pretzel.

Speaking of the validity of this content, if Baka is posting here, then I guess that answers the uncertainty :).

Utikisama(the moon) by Rikki from Final Fantasy X, japan, is damn good. Otherworld from FFX is damn good also. And one winged angel from FFVII, and Liberi Fatali from FFVIII. Lot's of good FF music.

The Sephiroth orchestrated theme is great, but the best ever video game music has to be the Cosmo Canyon music from FFVII.

This site is fantastic! I love video game music. In fact, of all the music I have on my computer, the video game file is one of the largest. I really like the Mysidia song from FF4. Also, lots of Metroid music and Ocarina of Time music.

    The most
egaman games (not legends) have great game music, my friend and his band even made a cover on the music at the first level at Wileys fortress and it sounded pretty good (except the silly lyric things they put in)

I would like to hear Storm Eagles theme with drums, guitar and bass

Megaman III's intro theme. Or, Protoman's theme, if you must call it that. Really good stuff. REALLY GOOD. Even for an 8-bit music...thing...it's amazing. Shoot, go to that overclocked site, and get "Blue Reflection". /me nods.
