Anime must see anime

    I put Trigun, because it is an excellent example of how intelligent and complete anim can be. Next choice, Akira. Akira is probably the better Anime, but people I show it to are like "what's all that about?" whereas people I know who have seen Trigun are hooked on it.

    Akira is better animated but I'd say Trigun is actually better. Triguns the best! It gives you everything except ***, ******** and tentacle **** but that rarely (uh..if ever) makes a good show.

    hmmm, since this poll includes both movies and long-running series, its kinda hard to pick.
    i would include:

    Mononoke,
    Porco Rosso (soooo good!!!!!)
    Grave of the Fireflies
    Metropolis (if only for the amazing backgrounds and the funky music)
    Jin-Roh
    Totoro.

    as for series,

    Berserk (hehe, just keep the kiddies away...)
    Read or Die (talk about crisp animation)
    Love Hina (but not the last segment, where theyre just going in circles, and especially not those infuriating, plotless OVAs! aaaargh!)
    Gunbuster (so good it hurts)

    and probably some gundam, take ur pick, series or movie.

    I say Trigun too. I agree with Legato on how its intellegent. The thing is that anime these days are pretty much stereotyped into Sailor moon, digimon, pokemon, etc that people dont realise how deep an anime can go and how anime wasnt meant only for kids. My second choice would probably be Cowboy bebop, but still i think for me to recommend someone to an anime it would have to be Trigun.

    Well... I think one of the biggest must see anime is Ghost in the Shell, its a bit of an oldie I know but the whole movie has this cool futurisic vibe to it... I loved the setting, the music, the art (even if its not Kawaii), the story, characters, I loved everything about it

    i'm glad i'm not the only one who loved this one...
    but i think feature movies are the 'must see'
    u gotta a see the classics at least once like akira and ghost in the shell.
    after all , i think Akira although not my fav, got more people hooked on anime than any other release eva!

    i voted for Cowboy bebop to be a must see.
    reason:this show offers almost every type of style from sad to scary-to everything-the characters are so awsome---bounty hunters is always fun to see..and thats why i choose CB...!!**

    Well, I have not seen any of them except Trigun, and even so I would have picked Trigun anyway, because I love that show.

    Cowboy Bebop, that show is classic....




    You could also look into some Gundam series...;) Just avoid Wing and G-Saviour, everything else is pretty good.

    thing is, those choices up there, those are the ones (for the most part...amended to be current you know) that i'm asked if i've ever seen...alot...in fact, most ppl in my anime club have seen at least one of those before deciding to attend...

    OK now, Sailor Moon maybe isn't the best anime in the world (well, at least not to you I guess ;) ) but no way does it compare with Pokemon/Digimon!

    Anyway, a must see anime...

    Kare Kano (I liked this one a lot)

    Noir is a must see anime, the best I have seen of its kind. But if I had to pick from that list of overly popular anime I would say Cowboy Bebop, the Trigun.

    If you people don't know that I would say Cowboy Bebop by now(or you're just a noob),you should be ashamed.Although no one should overlook Trigun either.Akira is good as well.
