Art My drawing and some questions...

Hi. I see that plenty of people here are talented artists and I hope I can learn from y'all.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone can give me some tips on coloring a lineart using photoshop. I scanned a drawing I made (attachment) and colored it using photoshop, and it wasn't as good as the other stuff I see out there (or maybe it's just my ugly taste for colors :sweat2: ). Maybe someone can give me pointers on how to color (esp. shadows). And if anyone knows of any good sites that have tutorials, I would really appreciate it if you let me know. Thanks!!! ^____^

That isnt really that bad at all, I like his top. Anyway a good thing to do is use a search engine and type things like, photo shop tutorial, ect. Also, I belive direct linking is wrong on this forum, but I have seen alot of people doing it, so maybe I am mistaken:

They have 2 tutorials for CG on there one for paint shop pro and one for photo shop.

Even if its not for the photo shop you have, its still good because the tools are similar.

Also a good thing to do is try to make the shading blend into the main colour so the change doesnt look so sudden. But some people have their own taste with CG, If you would like to have a look at some CG pics visit the image galleries on manga to anime.

Thanks Rem. I checked out the link you gave me and it was good. I read the tutorials and I learned a lot from it. Hopefully I can show you something next time that I can be proud of.

PS I saw your gallery too. You're a good artist. I hope to share some techniques with you next time...

PS2 (not the console!) The kid I drew was showing of a dirty finger. I censored it so that no one would be offended. I hope no one was. :shy3:

it's a great pic so don't be afraid to post plenty more that you've CGed, coz by the looks o things you're definately very skilled with photoshop.

Anyway, I never knew making CG is such hard work! It's takes a lot of time. But it's worth all the effort.
