    Hiya,
after ages of aggony with paint shop pro 7 I finaly finished this cg picture of my martial arts character. Because the picture was not inked in the beggining it was really hard to actually colour it. I played around a bit with effects and softening the picture helped a great deal. This is my first attempt at a CG picture, I think its very good for a first try ^_^. Can annyone recommend a better program for CG to me?. And please please comment on it and critisice it, ^_^.

mmm...yeah, that link is cged n__nU

I wouldnt reccomend painting without lines unless you have a lot of expierence, black lines give shape and volume to your picture, oh, and another thing, dont use filters, they are evil unless used by a veteran :sweat2:

When I CG i only use the brush and eraser tools, everything else is pretty much usseles, for example, I know some people who use a lasso tool to paint shadows, I simply draw the shadow in, its easier and you have better control over the shadow's shape.

mmm...what program are you using? i use photoshop, i wouldnt recomend it, Photoshop is a photography retouching program, Painter is really good but difficult to use @_@, Paint shop Pro ive never used it but ive heard its pretty good, mmm...try downloading some demos and see for yourself :)

Thanks for the advice, I will try some demos. I use the lasoo thingy too maybe thats why it doesnt look to good, I will try your way chejo, do you use layers or do you just directly apply the colour in the same layer?. I use paint shop pro 7. The text editor is annoying :anger2: . Anyway like I said the Link pic was my Boyfriends forst CG (I thought I had mentioned that :dizzy2: ). This is my first try now that I veiwed it again, it really looks very messy.
