Recreation Name My Kitty!!

Yessir, I went to the pound today and finally adopted a new kitty cat. She's a sweet little black short haired domestic who's adopted name is Beloved.

In the spirit of the randomness of the rec boards I post up this challenge to all who post here- I'd like to give her a little nickname, or a common name to say around the house. Beloved is a sweet name, but not really a name I'm happy with.

Her name doesn't have to be Anime/Manga related, or even Japanese based. What ever names you guys come up with are all fair game.

She's still a little timid and dashes away at any sudden movements (she also spends a good deal of time under the couch in my room. She's still new and getting used to the new surroundings.

Unfortunately she's also a little stinky- She got carsick on the way home from the Norfolk SPCA, AND (as if that wasn't bad enough) she pooped in her carrier at around the same time. I learned the hard way she doesn't like to take baths, so I just let her clean herself (she's gotten 90% of the nasty gook off anyway).

What's cool is that when she isn't hiding she likes to follow me around, purring all the damn time, and she even enjoys sleeping in my bed with me (finally, a woman to share my bed with!! :anime: ).

I feel bad though, I went to the Norfolk SPCA (where they do not kill animals) vice the PeTA outpost around here (where they DO), so I can't help but think that I could have saved another. Beli (her temp name for the moment) was also up for grabs by another family (but I beat them to the punch) so she would have been taken home anyway.

Still she's a sweetie, even if she does still smell like poop and cat yak, and I lub her to death.

So name my Kitty and after a few days or so I'll pick the best, create a poll and we can vote. It'll be fun.

I'm not sure if Cloud has any plans to create a Pet Forum or not, but it might not be a bad idea- a place where we can swap stories about our animals or ask for advice from those who have walked the path before.

I says choose Kairi. I think it fits a cat and anime lover.

When I was like 5 (or 6 or 7?) we got a dog (chinesee breed;Chow Chow), and we named him Gohan. It was around '97, so the hype for Dragon Ball Z and GT was preety big in our country at the time. But after a while, it fits quite nicely. I think that's the only Anime name my parent's don't mind saying all the time ^o^

That's my guess at least. Hopefuly you like my suggestion!

Well, you could name her after your favorite anime character. That's what I wanted to do with my dog, but my mom wanted to name her. :sad:

Maybe you should name her Asuka, or Lina, or Momiji, or Naga.

Go down to girl's names and they give you info about the name. Very cool indeed.

 

Why not keep that temporary name? It sounds pretty nice as is, wouldn't you say?

Anyway, typically their names come to you as you get to know them. For me I named my cat "Rascal" because he was always getting into trouble and messing with stuff he shouldn't.

But if you want a suggestion, all I can do is say to use a name from one of your favorite anime series.

Perhaps you could call her "Piroshky" (short being Piro), like Makoto's cat in Kanon.

Why not name her from one of your favorite SMJ characters? never know how nice it would be to say Bloodberry(sp?) come here!...and it's a cat

 

I could name her one of a dozen different names. The whole point here is to get some ideas from the peanut gallery and give you guys a chance to pick some out and vote for it. If I wanted to fight for my right to name her I wouldn't have posted anything.

Keep the ideas coming. There's a few that I like already. Remember it DOESN'T have to be anime/manga/japanese related at all. It could be anything.

Kara is the one that names our cats mostly. She's had Faith, Hades, Lily, Chupacabra, Nyx, Ghost, Gremlin, Gizmo, Blue Eyes White Kitten (can you guess what he is? White kitten with blue eyes), and Normy. I named Samus and Jack. Anyways...

Short black hair? Dodges away shyly? Perfect name: Hinata (as in from Naruto).

I'll also throw Sable out there.

 

If I had a cat then I'd name it Sango after the cat in Wish ^^

Well lets see here Cat names. Here is a few that I have used for females: Baby, Snoopy, Munchkin, Gimp (actually Kitten), Stumpy, Jubay, Patch, Patches, Lucky, Lightening, Socks, Boots, Missy, Fluffy, Muffin, Sasha, Sox, Shadow, Maxine, and a lot more.

Anyway I like Luna, Gabby, Misty, Onyx, Oreo, Coco, Cleo, and Kimba.

Cleo has to be my favorite. Short for Cleopatra. Queen of the Nile. Lover of cats.

 

I got a new little kittie myself.. He is only about 2 monts or more old.. Wild little devil.. Named him Gus.. Litle Grey tabby cat..

 

How about Luna from Sailor Moon. I think that's her name anyways.
