Ok, this has been bugging me for a few years.
In the 80's, Den TV, or whatever the hell it was called in those days screened a pretty cool (from what I remember), cartoon.

There were like 2 versions of it, both featuring the same main characters, a white guy and a black chick I think.
The 1st version I remember was based inside the human body, it used to have all this stuff about little things fighting viruses and stuff.
The 2nd version had them exploring outer space.

I've no idea at all what it was called, but something tells me it was French, could well be wrong on that though.

Surely one of our senior members has some idea about this show???

hmm, I have vague recollections of that series...might do a bit of googling with it, now that you got me interested..:p

Another thing...does anyone else find that alot of French cartoons are similiar in ways and style to Japanese anime? Why is that?

Well that all time great Dogtanian was a Japanese/French co-production, I've heard about a few more shows which were done in a similar style.

Hard to Google a show when you've zero idea of the name.
Even http://www.yesterdayland.com/ didn't bring up anything for me on this particular show :(

I do believe I know the show you're referring to.

I recall some weird little professor guy who was entirely hair, beady eyes, hands, feet and a nose. Oh, and a mouth.

There was actually several series, including one on the human body, one about our solar system, and one about history (mostly North American and European history).

Sadly its rather hard to find information on these, since they had generic names ("Exploring Our Solar System", for example).

However my sister does have a picture of the proffesor dude I just mentioned, and I will scan it when I get back home for Christmas break.

As for the two people you mentioned, the white guy and black girl, they were in all the series, along with their friends, in varying roles. I also remember these two jackasses who, in the history series, were blood-thirsty little bastards who always looked bored and pissed off, and in the body series, they were actually germs. :)

(and no, Im not Irish, but, having seen this show and knowing how mind-alteringly weird it can get, I want to re-expose XCR Diablo to it. The body one gets *especially* weird, since it uses visual metaphors. And its even better if you take everything literally, then we have a bunch of fuzzballs in a metal labyrinth in our head, fat families of blood cells running around, spacemen in hover-cars with lasers as our immune system, and several bionic parts.)

Heh my favorite was the pregnancy episode, because I made a game of taking everything literally, and since they couldnt show sex, they just had an explosion representing it.

    Imagine...

BOOM then a person shows up...

Yup and each week you would get a bit of the body to stick into it. I remember week 1 was the body itself. In fact that's all I remember.

I'd say if you looked through one of the many "What's your favorite cartoon" threads back on boards.ie you would find the name of it somewhere.

Oh and wasnt the Den called Dempseys Den back in the day. :)
