Inu-Yasha Naraku's Demon Biology

Hey! Ummmm I was wondering if Naraku was originally that human and he let all those demons eat him so he could become a demon, then why is he only a half-demon? Why wouldn't he turn out to be a full demon?

he was half human-onigumo-i think.......
there is more than 1 demon so he is not 1 full demon

 

Naraku was a man once, called Onigumo. he got burned and looked like a mummy. he was cared after by kikyo. onigumo wanted to be powerful so he absorbed bodies of hundreds of demons. he discarded of his ugly burned body and took the body of some young human lord. :dizzy2: (creepy, i know) thats the body that we always see him in. So, he made himself really complicated :anger2: however, as long as he has anything human in him he would be considered a hanyou. So, he can become a full demon only with the help of shikon no tama.

 

I think me_dreaming_zzz has it about right, but here's my thought.

Naraku who was once humen called forth Demons to become one with him, so with that Demon + Humen = Half-Demon.
But Naraku is the best so you cares if his a Half-Demon.

 

Actually, no one's gotten it quite right yet.

From what I gathered from the series so far, Naraku is considered a half-demon because, while he did let all those demons consume the body of Onigumo, he didn't discard the human body. It's still in there with everything else, holding it all together. He didn't consume the body of the young lord; he probably just killed him and took his form, since we know Naraku is a shapeshifter. Naraku doesn't like to absorb "unclean" humans. He wants the Shikon no Tama to increase his power. He doesn't need it to become a full demon because he could do that by discarding the right pieces from his body. He attempts this with Musou, but it doesn't quite work, and he absorbs Musou again.

Spoiler: episode 124-ish

Naraku finally manages to rid himself of everything human, and becomes full demon. Since his human portion was what was keeping him from killing Kikyo, and he's managed to discard it now, he succeeds in killing her.

 

Naraku was hanyou because like Inuyasha he would go through a time of the month. During that time, he would go to pieces (literally). All his youkai body parts would kinda fall off him and he'd be unable to move. However Naraku was able to use this time of weakness to his advantage to create newer and more powerful forms. Naraku's new tai youkai form is hideous, to put it mildly.

 

Does any one know a good place to find Naraku pics. Especially in his yokai or Tai Yokai forms.

 

Naraku could also pick and choose when his "time of the month" was. He wasn't bound to a set time the way Inuyasha and Jinenji are.
