Manga NEED HELP 2 Select a GOOD MANGA!!!

Hi everyone,

I'm new 2 the Manga world, except Hana Yori Dango, that I heard of be4.

Anyways, so when I heard that Hana Yori Dango will be finally in stores in July, I went 2 buy it, except they told me it will be out in August. :

So, I decided 2 go and see other mangas books and here's the titles I found:

Chadin Sisters Demon Diary Samurai girl
Vampire game Kodocha Mars
Tokyo Mew Mew Marmalade Boy Oh My Godess
Miracle girl INNUU Love Hina
Paradise kiss Real bout high school
Peach girl Kare Lano

If ANYONE Reads anyones of those and can HELP me and Tell me which one Of THOSE r GOOD Mangas. I'll be really HAPPY!!

What you're asking is really difficult to do, and you'll probably be more confused when you get the replies, since this is a purely subjective question.

But...

Real bout high school and Love Hina are probably the best in that list, even though I don't like them (I don't like the cutsy Kawaii style manga).

Not to mention another of my favorite mangas, Love Hina, which is one of the best mangas ever made!

 

Well, by saying "Kawaii style" I mean the style of manga which is basically all about cute people with large big cute eyes. The themes are love and pink life. Simply speaking, I don't like romance mangas.

But this is just an opinion.

THere are a lot of other styles such as adventure, scifi,... I think Inu Yasha, GTO, yu-gi-oh!, Ranma... Are all fine mangas.

Those title's seem a little different then from how I know them though.

Anyway'z out of all of them i recommend and prefer KODOCHA. it's great. I just started collecting it and am up to book 7. That's how addictin' it is. Horror's for the wallet. Don't mind if the artwork isn't to your likin' at the begginin', it get's waaay better.

Also for realistic shoujo romantic type manga fan's Marmalade Boy is a classic. Totally "dyfunctional" to quote so many people. That was the one that got me into shoujo realism in the first place. I was purely a fantasy girl.

eh...to save Teddz the trouble i'd be happy to say that Oh! My Goddess is great. Even if I haven't experienced the 'Greatness' first hand.

I just bought my first volume of Kare Kano but so far i'd say it's a'right. Personally I like the end story better than the main one.

uh...isn't it Shaolin Sister's. whatever. i've input my opinion.

Oh you will experience the glory and greatness of Aa! Megami-sama if you stop being so picky . But still, its a great manga, and i recommend it again

Yeah maybe some titles are wrong, I was in a hurry and wrote them down on a small piece of paper, and when I was trying 2 read my own writing, that's the only titles I got, so yeah, probably there's mistakes!!

Well, a lot of people have given you suggestions, but I figured I should also offer my opinions (even though I don't read translated manga all that often).

Kodocha is great. Kinda cutsy, but lots of fun. Not sure about the quality of the translations, but Tokyopop tends to do a decent job.

I.N.V.U. looks good, judging by what I've read of it from the Tokyopop 2003 sampler I picked up at AX. Tokyo Mew Mew is cute, and Man of Many Faces is fun. Let's see....

I'd also recommend checking out Wish. It's four volumes long, and it has a sweet story. Lots of fun if you like romance, angels, and demons.

Demon Diary seems interesting, but very much shounen-ai (boys' love), so if you have problems with that you might want to stay away from it.

Beyond that, I can't really say. I know more untranslated manga than translated stuff, so I'm not as much help as other people probably are. I know that Tokyopop is a decent company, and Viz is evil. That's about it. ^_^;;

Thanks for ur suggestions. I just discovered that @ the local library, they only had Oh my Goddess, which few people suggest and Marmalade Boy, and another one, which I don't remember. So, those ones are available, others I'll have 2 buy!!

I would like 2 read untranslated stuff, if ONLY I could READ or UNDERSTAND something. :glazed:

I mean I know few languages, but not the Manga's languages, whatever Asian language it is!

Kodocha, a few people did suggest it, so I might do more research on that.

Marmalade Boy -Their are 8 books and I cryed at number 7, 8 because it was over!!! And here are some charters Miki,Yuu,Ginta,Jin,Miwa,Armi (DID SPELL IT RIGHT), and Suku !.!

Dragonball - It was REALLY REALLY FUNNY!!!!

Sailor Moon - It is about a girl named Serena who gets super powers so as Lite, Mina, Amy, and Raye and the little people Rini,
Daran ( DID I SPELL THAT RIGHT!), Artimise, and Luna!


Ceres - Celestial Legend by Yu Watese! Good Manga!

6.X/1999(I'm pretty sure Kamui would say this)
7.Shonen Jump's Shaman King(I think I spelt it correctly)

 

If you're looking for clean, unperverted comedy, I would suggest Dragon Knights, seriously this series is good, but it's unfortunately unpopular...

Anyways, some other funny ones would be Fushigi Yuugi and Kodocha... Also, Magic Knights Rayearth and Chobits are good too
