Neon Genesis Evangelion Neon Genesis Anime

Anyone, I was wondering, what is this anime about. My friend says, it isn't very good, so I want to know for myself and have my own opinion, thank you for reading.

 

Evangelion is easily one of the greatest anime's around. It changed anime history as we know it.

I have met know one who doesn't like Eva NewType Motion Pictures Magizine it came up as the 2nd greatest Anime of all time (the 1st best of all time was Mobile Suit Gundam) Althought is is very confusing so don't watch it expecting something happy and jolly.

 

It's about three teenage children who find themselves having to pilot the "Eva's" in combat against the "Angels", in an effort to save mankind. However, the focus of the series is more on the human interactions of the human cast, rather than the battles. (Theres still plenty of action of course) Very thought provoking series, with lots of symbolism and such in it.

At least give it a shot. Its definitely worth a try.

>D You can't let anyone influence the way you think about an anime series. Each series is something you have to experience on your own. Evangelion, imho, is one of the most gripping series out there. (This from someone who has yet to see the whole thing -- GRR!!)

So if you're not sure, rent. If you like, rent or buy. But you might want to buy, as it's something you can watch many, many times. (And I recommend watching it in Japanese with English subtitles, because the English dub will bias you against it too quickly. ^_~)

 

its been so long since i watched the series..so i really dont remember..for me its kinda... uhhmmm... CONFUSING! aha! thats the word! you should watch it though and be a big fan of rei ayanami!!!

 

I believe Eva was a turning point in the anime world. The anime itself is great but one can easily get bogged down in confusion in certain places. 100% concentration is required. As for the show itself. Action, love, explosions, a bit of comedy and a bit of nudity... it's all there.

Deserves it's own space on a shelve...
