Most of Tomita's CDs can be ordered from HMV in Japan
(http://www.hmv.co.jp/) (there's an "English" link to click, but not
everything will be translated; still, you'll be able to order from
them). One disc will come up without a picture and without English
titles: BVCC2510 is The Bermuda Triangle. HMV offers US versions of
some of them; I would stick with the Japanese versions. I think they
    sound better.

HMV doesn't offer some Japanese CDs that are available; Mundo does
    (http://www.mediawars.ne.jp/~mundo/collect/file/t-isao.html). Of the
synth albums HMV doesn't offer, Mundo has Firebird and Cosmos, and
    the Disney Aquasphere music. There's also a Kodo CD featuring Tomita;
I'm guessing the US pressing is just as good as the Japanese on this
one, and you can find it at any online CD shop.

Both sites have some of Tomita's movie music as well; the only one I
    know well is Jungle Emperor.

You can regularly find Tomita's LPs on ebay.

  3. You might want to check around in the japanese music section under Kodo
    (the drum ensemble) for

Actually while I can't argue since the available U.S. CD releases were
played around with, still one has to consider that buying the Japanese
pressings are going to be twice the cost or more no matter how you look
    at it.

I always have questions exactly whats in print in japan. Unfortunately
his synth albums don't seem to be thought of too highly in Japan so
availability is spotty and in General the labels aren't serious about
back catalog any more. Sometimes these online places have some around
but sometimes these places just aren't updating their listings and then
they try to order it and come up empty since they just go by whet they
    see on databases.

Comfort can be given a cat# and if its in print he can get it

    > Mundo has Firebird and Cosmos,

I suspect they bought them years ago and found foreign fans didn't want
to pay the higher prices... being that those CDs cost so much less
outside Japan. I know Comfort, seeming competion for Mundo had Firebird
and Pictures and I think Cosmos (Kosmos) as I recall when I visited in
2000 (p.s. his brick and mortar shop closed but Comfort is still a good
place to order in print CDs by cat#)

    and

p.s. thats a new mini album, anyone who deals with japanese disney
imports should have access to it

"Nasca Fantasy". It features Tomita playing synths though being Kodo's
album he's more accompanying with them, though its still quite
impressive. I'm sure it is the same mastering around the world. I'd
suspect "Back to the Earth" is the same mastering too.

I guess the key with Nasca Fantasythis one is its filed under Kodo, so a
lot of shops have it, its just not filed with Tomita albums.

Catastrophy 1999:Nostradamus Prophecy, Misty Kid of Wind, First Emperor
and Storm from the East (Legend of The Blue Wolf) are the synth scores,
the others aren't done with synths. The synths ones are all fairly to
    very hard to get

Still, the fact remains that they are available. I just got them
myself from Mundo a couple of weeks ago; I decided I could afford the
higher cost and replaced all my US CDs with the Japanese versions.

I wish more stores would keep an inventory of discs like that. Some
Japanese CDs seem to go out of print almost as soon as they're
    released.
