I finally found stuff from the first Pillows album. four songs of it. PLUS- I just got all of their latest album, Smile! It rocks, I mean really rocks. I am blown away. Album 10 rulez!!

That's six more songs I could add to the list

Plus, I got about 5 Pillows music vids, mtv type, and live! Ro><or again!

10 albums? How long have they been around, anyway? And how do they consistently put out such high-quality tunes? Other bands could learn a thing or two, no?

tG, I found them on WinMX. They are: Ride on Shooting Star and Fool on the Planet Live, and Instant Music, Ride on Shooting Star and Kanojo wa Kyou music videos. Plus, a 10 sec promo vid clip for I Think I can, and for good measure, that anime music video using Little Busters.

GnZ, they have been around since 1990 (when they had four members). Other bands sure could learn a thing or two. Certain bands that take five years to put out a new album, when the pillows do it relatively quickly (been two years since the last new one ) and do it well.

Anyway, I'm up to 130 pillows songs, not counting FLCL mixes and the live versions I am going to rip from that video

 

You mean like Ozzy Osbourne? Gone for six years and we're all supposed to care about his return?
Just as long as no more than one album by a band is released in a single year, that's good. Otherwise, they suck.
If those titles are any indication, I might just have to check a few out.

I've seen the Busters anime music video, it was cool, but short

Oh yeah, seeing as they have been around for 11 years...I'd say that they have only released around 1 album/year.

 

Runner's High and Happy Bivouac were both released in 99 they both rock. Instant Music, Carnival, Bran new Lovesong, Juliet, Rush, No Self Control, Advice, Runner's High etc. are all good. Not to mention the singles that year: Sleepy Head, She is perfect, Come Down..

Of course, Runner's High was released in January, and Happy Bivouac in December, so they were practically a year apart. Yeah, I guess a year is a good minimum

Regarding Smile: Track three (To the end of this world) is cool, so is Wining Come Back (though its only 1:15 long ) Heck, it's all pretty good

Oh yeah, what are all of the FLCL remixes of?...or did you mean the instrumental versions?

 

From the FLCL OST of course They instrumental remixes, and "almost instrumental remixes" (see runner's high ) Yeah, we're thinking of the same thing, just in different terms

I just got their new album Penalty Life and I'm feasting upon it's goodness. I guess it was just released about two weeks ago too.. Phantom Pain rocks, it's my favourite out of all of them so far.

I like the new album. Goes in a bit of a different direction, not quite as hard. The last song on the album is quite nice.

Since I last posted in this thread I've managed to collect all of the songs they have released and I've moved on to live tracks, videos and side-projects

I love watching this band change and evolve and hope they stay around for another 13 years.

As it would be rather expensive to import all of their CDs, I find it hard to frown too severely on that, but I would hope that you would support them a little and buy at least one or two of the CDs. They are not a well known band (not even in Japan) and every little bit helps.

I have a hard time declaring p2p to be completely evil.. without it I would never even have heard of The Pillows: all of their stuff that I have bought is a direct result of p2p. This is what p2p is really good for: discovering new bands to support.

So: sample is cool, but help them out at least a little please
