Anime OFFICIAL!!! Berserk 2nd series in pre-production.

Details are almost nil so far but Media Blasters, the company behind the US DVD release of Berserk have stated that another Berserk series is in pre-production.
Pre-production does not mean it's guaranteed to happen, but it's a least being planned. Whether it'll be an OVA or TV series is anyones guess.

THANK YOU!!!! I WENT CRRRAZY TRYING TO FIND OUT IF THEY WERE GOING TO MAKE A SECOND SERIES, all I got was banter however, in any case, it is good to know they are at least planning it..... anyone here have the manga volumes 11-end?? I need them. and I needs them bad. THANKS AGAIN!!

 

I really enjoyed Berserk, though I do wonder what they'll do with a second series. Do you think they'll use any of the story elements from the Dreamcast game?

I haven't read any of the manga, but I know that the series pretty much takes place in the middle of it. Does anyone know where I can find a site that has a translated version of the manga?

Well, the berserk game, kind of went on on their own tangent and was a different story from the manga, and I'm going to guess that the next series is just about the other part of the manga, and that part didn't have anything to do with the game, except some of the characters, puck, caska and Gatts, in any case, I'm hoping the new berserk game coming for ps2 will have the manga elements to it. The site where you can find translated versions of the manga, http://www.thehawks.org you have to go into the IRC section, and it's fairly baisic, and you can ask someone on the siet if you don't know what to do, have fun kiddies.

 

Hate to burst bubbles. But nothing has happened at all for the second series. I've read pretty much all of kentaro's updates for about a year now. He lists that question of a second series as the most asked question he gets asked.
But whats always said, is that he'd "like" to make another series but at the moment there will be no work on it until the manga runs its life.
Its on volume 23, should be on 24, but kentaro gets sick alot and kinda runs back the dates.

The manga and anime are very similar, but they do differ on important points. Puck is not that important as hes comic relief in the manga as (believe it or not) gatts is much more serious and callous about everything.
Skullknight is important but can be added to the anime quite easily, as he really only appears once before the eclipse in midland. Even the description of where he comes from could easily be done with a flashback as thats how its done in the manga.

I can understand that all this is unimportant. As the manga is a world apart in atmosphere than that of the anime, the stories are the same. But gatts is much more vicious, the scenes that you see in the manga are much more gruesome and interesting than that of the anime also.

When something happens, it'll probably be all over japanese tv, and i'll post, but i don't think it'll be anytime soon.
