Oh how the government doesn't like us.

I'm currently trying to get a utility patent for something I invented. So I went to http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/pac/utility/utility.htm to look at how to get.

Hear that?

That was the sound of my brain exploding. The sheer magnitude of what they require you to do and in what specific ways is mind blowing. But sooner or later I'll get my patent and then I'll never have to get a job.

 

Get-rich quick schemes never work.

 

It's not a scheme, or a get rich quit type of thing. I invent it, I get the patent for it, companies pay me money per month to use it in their products. Depending on how much money I get, I could either just live comfortably without working, or become one of the richest people on Earth. I'm not sure how many companies are gonna find out about it.

I heard something about some dude invented a way to create perpetual energy a couple of years ago, so when he applied for a patent the government raided his house and took all his computers and information about it or something like that because they feared he would become the richest person on Earth-more so than Bill Gates-and he would be able to buy his own army. (You should be able to guess what happens after that.) I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I'm trying to look into it.
