Trigun ok, is it 'May' or 'Mei' City? [contains SPOILERS]

    in the episode Murder Machine, on the front of the bus it said 'Mei City', but on the sign in the city it said 'May City'. So wich is it? there really is a city by that name in Japan, and it's spelled 'Mei', but i'm still up for some opinions!

    You have probably realised that many towns are named after a month in Trigun. Like June and July towns. So It's plausible to say 'Mei' is the Japanese for 'May'

    It's May City. As I'm sure you noticed, other towns are named after months of the year. Mei is an "engrish" version of may, it is how it is spelled phoneticaly in japanese. The proper japanese for may is "gogatsu", literaly, fifth month.
