Yes, there is something that enables online gaming. It's called the Playstation Network Adapter. There's also a cheapo one that's called go-net...but the one made by Sony looks 230948230948x better. It bolts on to the back, where that big dock goes. You then connect a phoneline or an ethernet cable to the back (it has both)...however, the games I've seen out for it are all "Broadband Required". So...yeah, no broadband, super lag for you. :(

It's 40 bucks for the Playstation one. And I think 30 for the go-net...but that one looks crappy, IMO. Get the Sony one, if you're lucky enough to find one. Someone jacked the one I was saving for myself at work!

Oh, this only concerns North Americans, because I do not know the status of the PS2 servers in the PAL regions...but it's hard to find because Sony is only releasing so many of them at a time, so that servers can keep up with the gamers. Not enough here yet, to mass ship them adapters. *sigh*

I work at Best Buy. And all my coworkers are pretty hyped on the gaming world, though they're all 21+. :) It also helps that I work on the video game section of the store (and DVDs and CDs) so I HAVE to know some stuff about the games. Well, not all of them, just the important ones. :D

DSL is fine. If you want both PC and PS2 online, then you'd have to get a router or something. But, I hear you can't because the PS2 takes the signal or some such that takes the bandwith away from you. *sigh* And broadband includes anything above 56k. So, when I or anyone says broadband, generally think of it as starting with DSL.
