I think I get the idea that they didn't want me to register this piece of software I've got, but I'm curious as to what they Really said.

    We have received your reply.
Please don't send this form multiple times.
The database is infrequently updated, so please be patient!

    Thank you!

    ------

Seems you have sent the registration info more than once, either that, or they are simply acknowledging that you sent it, and not to send it again, they'll get around to updating the database sometime.

So, you are done I think. Just have to wait for them to get through their pile of work or whatever. Maybe just to get off their lazy aces :D

OK, good. I'm pretty sure I only sent the registration once. So, I'm okay. I wanted to make sure the database and distribution hadn't been permanently scrapped or anything.

It's a Commodore 64 emulator, C64S. I bought a registered version from the US distributor several years ago, but of course they went toes-up while I was in Russia. Well then, how could I upgrade? I finally found the German distributor and found out they took over the US distribution too. It took me a while to find my serial number so that I could reregister with the Germans. So, hopefully they'll give me access to 2.52 or the Windows 9x version or something (which would really be great cause I can't get the sound to work right now).

    Ah...the days of C-64...

Someday I'll dig back into that closet in my room, unbury that ol' thing...and see if any of those 1000 big floppy disks sill work!

The glory days are over, but emulation lives on!

No, it wasn't so much the .product, though I did think about it again after we last talked about the .beauty of the .product. I used my 128D in 64 mode while I was home, because it's the only computer worth anything back there (even beating out a 486 with 80 MB hard drive - no surprise there).
Previous versions of C64S dissapointed me because they couldn't deal with the copy-protection scheme of the 'CPU Jam' in certain boot sequences, which effectively denies me the use of any Electronic Arts game made after 1985 on the emulator. I'm hoping that 2.5B or 2.52 will handle it better, as reportedly 2.52 can even run the beastly GEOS shell (depending on what copy protection it uses).

Heh heh, GEOS, the C-64's answer to Windows...

EA always did have the most annoying boot sequences...colorful...but annoying nonetheless...

Now, Epyx on the other hand...

    On the subject of emulators...

...how far along are they on the C-64 scene? Are there any out there yet that have near-complete support, or perhaps just good support?

My worst case is typing "RUN" and waiting only to se ethe emulator isn't far enough along to run one of my more sophisticated disks....
