    I think anyone who's seen most of my other posts probably knows what I've voted for... ^^;

    Escaflowne, no doubts about it. Granted, there are a lot of wonderful anime series out there which are perfectly valid choices, but I've never been as passionately interested in any anime as I am with Escaflowne. I don't want anyone getting the idea that I'm a one-trick pony for constantly mentioning it, it's just my favorite series. XD

    Reasons why I love Escaflowne:
    - It has a wonderful soundtrack, with music for a variety of moods, and the vocals are beautiful.
    - The animation is very high-quality, especially considering that the series isn't as new as some of the other choices. Likewise, the character design is creative and aesthetically pleasing.
    - It's long enough to tell a full story, but not so long that the plot starts wearing thin.
    - The characters are engaging, realistic, and complex, and the world is vibrant and believable.
    - The plot has a good mix of shounen and shoujo/fantasy and sci-fi elements.

    And, hell, if it's kept my interest for all the year since I first saw it... Escaflowne must have something going for it, right? ;)
