Hey, im new here. So i havent a clue what im doing :p
Ok...I have paint shop pro 7, and have never really used it for image editing. I have various pics i wanna scan in and colour, all done by hand with a pencil. When i scan them in however they always have manky grey pencily lines, not precise black ones. Does anyone use psp, and if so how do you get around it? IS it possible to use some tool and have it just trace all the outlines down to a black line? Cheers.

Well... i use PSP for all of my image editing. But, i have PSP 8 and i dont ever scan stuff... i always use digital images.

My advice would be to talk a digital picture of them, transfer them to your comp, and ope in up with PSP... thats what i would do.

no, definetly use a scan... you just need to do some cleaning. you can do that either in psp or before you scan. if you do it before, you can ink the line art on a seperate piece of paper to the sketch or master. lots of ppl prefer this 'cause they don't risk ruining their sketch.
or you can just ink and erase the pencil lines. but if you sketch heavy this could be harder.
or get your hands on some Carbon Tetrachloride. This dissolves the graphite in lead pencils, so you can wipe some over your pics, and it will dissolve the pencil lines and leave you inking.

if you want to clean in psp, you can have a play with the levels, filters and marking. There's good tuts on the net on how to do this. but i don't have psp so i don't know hows its done in that program.
polykarbon.com and howtodrawmanga.com show you how to do this in psp7.
whichever way you go, good luck and don't forget to show us what you come out with.:)
