    I'm thinking of trying my hand at custom plush dolls, and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good site or single pattern for them. I just need a simple pattern or two for basic body shape - preferably in the style of the popular "UFO catcher" dolls you can get from the Japanese crane machines. The size of the doll that the pattern will make doesn't really matter, I just need an example to start from.

    I've checked around, but all I seem to find are classic or standard doll patterns - not something to make cute little chibi plushies.

    Recommendations for fabrics and string/yarn to use would also be helpful. I don't sew much. ^^;

    I suggest taking a sewing class, patterns are very had to create, and sewing is not easy. for fabrics i love using fleece, and for yarn i love using caron yarns. They are very soft and fuzzy, but they are kina expensive.
