What are your Pet Peeves? Those things that just drive you up the wall.

For example, two of my pet peeves could be. . . When people eat really loadly, and make odd snorting noises constantly.

Get the idea? What are yours?
I just thought it would be fun to see what annoys people the most. :)

This is going to be tough. Not because I don't have a lot of pet peeves, mind, but because I have more than the average person! :p Okay, let's see..
    • Immaturity
    • Homophobia
    • Racism
    • People who constantly assume and/or jump to conclusions
    • Lack of proper spelling/grammar
I might as well stop here. Those who know me know I could go on forever, which isn't a good thing!

I would have to agree with you completely, on those. Never really thought of them before.

I agree. And when I encounter people like this, I tell them off. But I also would like to add:

*Guys who think they are "macho" and show off by punching walls, etc, etc
*People who think they are better than another person
*People who shield their children from the world.
*But most of all... people with CLOSED minds. (The ones who think everything is wierd/gross, don't try anything new, and don't accept "new" things... etc etc.)

Wow I have a few peeves in common with others. One I dislike the most is when people judge you. They misinterpret uneasiness or shyness for being stuck up or *****y, etc.

Another one (from experience) is when people just won't be quiet and listen when you are speaking to them. I listen to them if they have something to say, but they just waste their own time and my own by making we wait for them. haha..

I'd have to agree with a lot of what's been said.

    -Close-minded people

-Homophoba, in fact, any kind of discrimination

-People who read off everything to the slightest detail, as it's written. (I know, it sounds weird, but, deal with people who ask for "Ham Pepper Fleetwood, 200 grams" a couple dozen or so times a day, and it'll get annoying pretty fast.)

Well, there are others, but the biggest one is, indeed, close-minded people.

[EDIT] Right after that, would be people who look down on you because they're supposedly beeter than you. I mean, just because I don't have the greatest, highest paying job in the world, does that give people the right to treat me like I'm nothing? Like I'm a slave? A machine? ...A (heh) marionette?

Being an anime fan I've had my share of weird looks when I mention that I like anime, so yeah, closed-mindedness tops my list. Homophobia and racism are up there, as well. It especially bothers me when people expect guys and girls to act a certain way and to not deviate from that. I'm in social work and you should see the looks I get because guys are "supposed to" be in engineering and science and get jobs where they can make a lot of money and have housewives so they can keep patriarchy going @_@ (And yes this view does surprisingly still exist).

Really loud, in-your-face people bother me too. Especially people who try to pry problems out of others rather than wait for them to say her/his problems willingly.

Immaturity is not so much a pet peeve of mine, but I guess you have to look at what is meant by maturity. If it's the point where a person should be at in the expected pattern of development of a certain culture, there could be many things that could have delayed maturation such as family problems, and cognitive problems (like ADD). So, you have to accept people for where they are since it's not always their fault for being that way. Ughh.. sorry if being overly analytical is anyone's pet peeve.

Because all the obvious peeves are there, I'll highlight a few more...

-"animu fans". Anime, in this case, is perverted to animu, and represents people completely obsessed with Japanese culture to the point that it's simply idiotic - using random (usually mispronounced) Japanese words in a normal, English conversation (when you can use an English equivalent, like cute); obsession with Japanese versions of things you can find here (like pop music. While some artists are different, there's an unnerving amount which is just like a Western song with Japanese lyrics); or the belief that everything asian is better because it's asian.

-Super emo/goth people. I don't mean the average, run of the mill type emo/goth people. I mean people who take the attitude to such an extent it's like an unwitting parody. Those who will write poems about how hard their life is and how they want to slit their wrists, but never tell you why life is so awful. Don't get me wrong; there can be a lot of darkly beautiful things in the gothic culture (emo looks can be nice in moderation), but way too many people spoil it. What's worse is when they get arrogant about it. True story: Buddy of mine dates a Live Action Role Player, who played Vampire: The Masquerade. Most of the group was extremely super-goth. However the 'leader' of the group ended up seducing my buddy's girlfriend, they got caught having sex, and the excuse was "it was all in game so it doesn't matter". My buddy broke up on the spot and just left. A couple days later, the guy who seduced her sent an email which essentially read...

    Isn't that total BS?

Anyway this is just part one. I'll write more later.

Things that really get to me are those school girls that sit at the back of buses and go through every single ringtone that they have so they can show their freinds just how great their phone is.

Oh. My. God. I can't believe he'd even dare sending that. Talk about not reading before clicking the send button! Otherwise he would have probably noticed just how moronic he sounded. That is so bloody ridiculous! I absolutely loathe the people who send these kinds of messages; makes my blood boil..

Kids with sticky hands, who touch you.

    Sticky things.

    Dirty People.

People, who try to include there self in a fight that has nothing what-so-ever to do with them.

When people who use the letters, r, u, and others in the place of words.

    Dirty finger nails.

People who don't have there own opinion on things and just "go with the flow".

I hate people who think they're really open minded and different but are actually more close minded than most. Internet slang makes me want to smack someone for some reason =/ 'I h8 u'

All the judgemental people. What does it really matter what someone wears!? Just a few days I overheard this guy say, "look at the way he dresses....he's like a freaking "poser".
Honestly, why must we judge? If I had to judge him, I'd be preety hurtfull, but then again that'd make me a hypocrite (is that how its spelled?) wouldn't it?

Smoke bothers me too.. I've gotten used to it, which is probably not a good thing.

I woke up at around 4:00 because some loud baka in the hall outside my room was talking at full blast, like 5000 decibals and kept on doing this about once every half an hour. It's in the middle of the night too, and he knew that people were sleeping. So, when people have absolutely no volume control, that's a huge pet peeve of mine.. I guess it's part of immaturity then because they don't have the intelligence to calculate that other people exist and are trying to sleep.

I wonder if he's sleeping now.. so I can talk full blast by his room!

I heard there's a new addiction to dip cigarettes in formaldehyde then lighting and smoking it.. imagine even the second hand effects of inhalation..
