Alright, let's give a shot at my first thread. I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, but Sega has thrown out a teaser of a new Phantasy Star game. As of right now, there's no REAL information on it, but I'm finding it rather interesting. Anyone else? So many questions and not a single answer about this game. Take care to post whatever maybe related to this topic, concerns, possible information, expectations, etc. ^^

Oh yea, my computer sucks so I couldn't watch the streaming video of the trailer but I've managed to find screenshots here and there. The Numan's still look like elves and not like the old school Numans, but that's ok if Sonic Team actually manages to do something intelligent with this. Lots of people are saying it's PSO 2 others say it's PS V. I would like to see the old school PS come back, but I'll be satisfied so long as Sonic Team does a good job on it and not give us anything rehashed like PSO Ep.1 & 2 and Ep.3. Adding stuff is neat, but it's starting to get really old to see the same thing with just a new skin over it or something to that nature. I'm hoping PSU will be a whole new animal and that trailer was satisfying to see :) .

Griz was a Motavian, but weren't Espers just humans that could use magic or something to that nature. Man I can't remember ^^;. It's been awhile since I've played PS 1-4. All I can remember are the races from the old school games. Humans, Muskcats *the things that were used to create Numans*, Numans, Motavians, Dezolians, and Androids. It would be nice to see all of those in PSU. I hope they also fix the class problems that were rampant in PSO Ep.1&2. While it's better than the older versions of PSO it's still sorely unbalanced. Oh well, we'll have to wait for some info, hopefully it will come soon ^^.

Well good news is that Sonic Team has released yet another PSO in Japan for the PC called Phantasy Star: Blue Burst. It's basically just the very first PSO on the PC with the offline play cut off and it has server-side saves. The fact that if the game can get server side saves alone it'll greatly reduce the chances of the notrious file corruptions way back on DC and GC. I used dupes on Ep.1&2 since everyone else did. If no one else is going to play fair why bother playing fair myself. Besides, the game was still so unbalanced that by time you got to very hard you'd need a few dupes to survive and if you were a force forget about trying to take on DF 3 on your own. Not until you're at least lv.100 or something to that nature. But I'd still like to have dupes eliminated. A game is almost always much more fun when no cheating is involved, espcially when there's more than one player.

funny that, i got to ult on 2 characters, vh on about 4, and hard with the others without having to dup at all. i just didn't join games with people i didn't know. it helps to know people online that play. i got tuesday(after 6ish, i have an intereview at victoria's secret at 4cst) and sat off, if you're HL is still good, can always do a run, sans dupes. hehe endless nightmare is always fun. ^^ my XERG could romp and be all pika-cute with ya *^-^*

and yeah, BB is also the version on PC too. i'm still tempted to get the GC release though, just cause of all the online content on it that's offline now.

I don't know, I never got a chance to play PSO, and, though I've heard good things about it, I doubt I ever will play it. PS4, however, was a great game. I enjoyed it far more than any ridiculous "Final Fantasy." I still go back and play it sometimes.

I didn't know about these cheats of yours. Frankly, I'm glad. I prefer an honest gaming experience, and, when I get hold of a cheat, I somehow compel myself to use it, even when I don't want to. Just watch me play Warcraft 3. In the old days, if I died, tough. Now, if I start losing, I put in Whosyourdaddy and repel the attack with ease. I hate it! I don't want to cheat! I want to play fair!

right i'm of to look for this trailor but assume i cant find it can someone give me a link?

PSO was the first online game i tried (i tried chu chu rocket but the servers were being used purely for chat and no games :anger2: )

I remember tring to explain to my dad who was watching me play that it's not a good idea to try and chat-up the female androids given that they were probably middle-aged geeks trying to find real girls by looking like them

anyway PSO was really buggy - the number of weapons that suddenly got banned because of cheaters was stupid, (some guy was selling mags on ebay, he got near $600 before he quit) one time i tried to start a game but some git hijacked my game and used it to produce counterfit weapons (so i stole one and ran - i might be a b*st*rd but i'm a B*st*d with a super weapon :D )

It'll be nice to find a way to avoid these cheats and clones once and for all (also i didnt like the way you couldnt officially back up your files - and coding the file to one disc was irrritating)

Anyway given those experiences i doubt i'll be playing this new version (then again i never played the rehashed versions either) Also i only ever played 10 minutes of PS1-4 but i'll have a look (purely out of curiosity)

The original Phantasy Stars are far greater than PSO *in my book anyway*. There are very small hints of the original series in PSO, but they're so tiny that's easily overlooked. in PSO Ep.3 the 'story' if you can call it that, was given to the player in Comic book-like frames as the old series has done since the very first PS1. I liked that about PSO ep.3, now if only they could have done that on every battle and actually made the story half way decent >.>. One of the main problems though is that instead of the original creator of PS making the story for PSO Sonic Team is instead. Old school Phantasy Star has always had great and deeply involved storylines. *Yes I also agree that Phantasy Star is better over those silly Final Fantasy games :p*. Hopefully Sonic Team will not let us down with PSU. I'm anxious to get something besides just a trailer on it. Also, for those interested, Conspiracy Games is developing The Phantasy Star Triology on PS2. It's going to feature Phantasy Star 1, 2, and 4 all with remade graphics and supposedly! a little more material. It's not due until Spring of 2005 however :dizzy2: . Oh well... patience is a virtue they say ^^.

Phantasy Star Online or Phantasy Star, either way, I loved them both. If PSU is like PSO, I certainly hope they do a graphics upgrade. That is all I want. If it is like Phantasy Star, I'll love it no matter what.

Well, PSU seems like it's the next step, so I'm sure we'll be seeing some new graphics and none of this constant re-hashed junk that Sonic Team has been giving us. Either way that it turns out I'll end up buying and playing PSU regardless (although I much prefer if it is done more PS-like).

    hehe

there are some PS fans who go a little too far to prove they prefer PS to FF

the song in this movie is made by a PS fan (the video by a FF fan who found it and thought it was funny)

I mayy be a FF fan but that's only because i've never played PS games. :p

I had PSO for GC. I played offline, I can't pay for it myself since I am currently jobless, and my mom says paying for games after you already bought it is a waste of money. I stopped playing though since an unfortunate event occured. I finally got FF:CC after a long wait, I load it in, and it erases my entire memory card for no reason! 320 hours of playing gone to waste. I was so close to getting an Asuka and some other katana class weapons...After that, I sold the game, along with FF:CC which turned out to be crap.
