Since there seems to be a rash of old Sega game polls...

Which PS game was your favorite? You know the drill.

Mine was PS3: Generations of Doom. Quite possibly the longest RPG for Genesis, if not any Sega system. You could end the game in one of many ways, and with all the funny glitches one could aquire (if you know what to do... :D ), it was ever so fun.

I heard PS4 was the overall best from the first four so I went out and bought it, and love it. I have little knowledge of the PS games unfortunately. They're making a remake of PS4 in Japan called Sega AGES 2500 Vol. 9 Phantasy Star 4: The End of Millennium.

If you have a GBA, Sega has released the first three in one cartridge, called the Phantasy Star Collection. I would suggest renting it if you'd like to see more.

Oh my God, PS4 was one of the best games on the Genesis. Indeed, it still ranks among my favourites today. You've got so many cool characters, like Gryz, Rika, Wren, Raja and Rune. They easily balance out the less enjoyable ones. The plot was good, and the game was freakin' long! I thought Zio was going to be the last boss, but he's more like a 1/4 marker! That game was BIG! And sidequests everywhere! Plus cool monsters like the sand worms and the caterpillars that made that great "bigarnk" noise when they attacked ... Ah, that takes me back. The soundtrack was beautiful as well, with lots of fun techno bits here and there. Also, science-fiction/fantasy hybrids are rarely executed well, but this game managed spectacularly.
As a little side note, if anyone has the original cartridge, push the B button at the title screen to get a music test. Unfortuneately, this doesn't seem to work on my old ROM ...

I feel I should take a moment to say that PS1 was horrible. But then again, it was on the Master System, so I guess it has an excuse.

:O Phantasy Star is not horrible! It just needs a makeover...Sure, it's challenging (every battle can wipe your entire party out!) and sure, its hideous (it looks like a cross between an atari and an NES game...) but its a freakin classic!

Anyway...I'm tied between 2, 4, and Ep 1&2 on cube.

2, for its diverse cast, immense playability, and jsut overall funness...

4, for its cast of loveable characters, like Alys "Six-Stroke" and Raja, its story, and the macro/combo system,

And PSO ep1/2 because its so freakin addicting! Theres something about lighting up a group of Evil Sharks with Rafoie that makes me feel all warm and happy inside...and all that weaponry! :X

Also...Novus...go onto Kazaa or WINMX or sometihng and look up Phantasy Star 4 Arranged...Its so great! Arranged OST's of the PS4 soundtrack...from "End of the Millenium" (the opening theme) to "Abyss" (the final battle with DF) it's awesome...I'll list all the tracks once I get home.

(P.S. -- They also had two for the accursed Game Gear, both only available in Japan...Phantasy Star Adventure and Phantasy Star Gaiden. They both sucked.)

I shall burn this vile network to a cinder and cast it into the fiery pits of Hell! Or at least banish it to the frozen wastes of Dezolis. Why is it that everything I ever wanted to download becomes apparent when I can't get it? I'm stuck with the soundtracks as I play them out in my head.

I've been playing 3 lately. The dungeons are really hard to navigate, and the battle system's kind of weak, but it's a pretty cool game anyway.

Oooo, I love the Phantasy Star series. I'm not so fond of PSO though because of it seems to lack connection to the real series, but that's only in story. I otherwise like PSO as well. I'm thrilled to here about a PS 1, 2 and 4 remake :anime: espcially Phantasy Star 2. I love Phantasy Star 2!! The story is great and Nei is my favorite character. Poor girl dies though ;.;. Ah well that's my post ^^.

I'd have to say Phantasy Star 4 is my favorite. Awesome characters, music, storyline, etc. This game is truly a classic. I still go back and replay it every so often.

Here is a site bursting with info on the Phantasy Star Series:

do the off-line quests, then, montague will talk about turning animal parts into weapons. once he says that, go into any quest with him in it( like, just standing outside or soemthing) and give him the item. like del sabers right arm is a del saber sword. left is the shield. rappy feathers give ya rappy fans(wich rule with feathery goodness)

finding add-slots is actually rather rare. but, you can also save up photon drops and get them too. (on-line quest: the shop one, down the ramp from the nurse's station, there's a yellow FOnewman(if you've down heat sword, you'll recognize the dork) that you talk to, go with him and talk to his pa. just 1 drop on you is all you need as he takes all the PDs on you for the trade.)
