Heheh! I 'm coming out with my own manga series, and I want to know how many people will actually pick it up and make a young kiddy happy! :anime: Even though it'll take me a year or two to finish a copy, and get it publish (actually, make that 5... :sweat2: ), I want to know now how many people will actually read a manga book written/drawn by a 12 year old, ( actually, 17 by the time I get it in....) :anime: :sweat2: :anime: . I'm not too bad at drawing, and I have my own critic! * pulls friend (elly) over to her* see! :anime: I'm most likely asking Tokyopop, to publish it. But, please offer any other publishing company's you find suitable! :anime: Thanks! :anime:

well whats your creation? Can we get a sample? 12 years old and thinking big already! heehee! What does your art teacher think of your work? Mine tells me to draw manga and anime as a "fun past time" but to really excel in other things such as painting or drawing still life. Ya know?? okies then. I'm an art crtic for manga....not official but I buy what I like...I look at the art basicly then the story. Meh hehehe. :sweat2:

You can only draw females? NO PROBLEM.

In manga, nobody know whether the character is male or female! (except for their breasts lol) so you have an extra chance here :D

so, where's the link to your art? :)

my dad gets pissed off all the time when he reads my manga because he doesn't know if a person's a girl or boy. like sometimes he's like.... "hey! what's this girls name, she's cute." "uh dad... that's a guy." yeah, and that happens all the time...

Personally I don't care what age the person who created the manga I'm reading is. I only care abou the story nad art and characters. I'd actually be very impressed if a 12 year old created a very good manga.

    However may i mention this.

I had a bunch of ideas when i was 12 too. But they're all gone now. I thought up better ideas. Also my art improved drastically.

The point is, as you age your ideas and art will change. In two more years you might not wnat to work on this manga, but another one. Your art will change so much in 5 years, when you look at your finished work you might be digusted with it. (I'm disgusted with my art from only last year. XD) The best idea is not getting caught up in 'publishing' a manga. (cause when you reach senior high that's only gonna cause problems with stress and stuff...) Rather do the manga for fun, not worry about making it 'perfect' or whatever, and then share it between you and your friends. that's what I've been doing for the past 2 years. Greta stress reliever. I have thought about publishing a manga, but i personally feel my art is not good enough. (even though my ideas are good).

So if you can, hold it off until you reach post secondary education (or after that) then think seriously about publishing a manga. And if you still wnat to do that manga you're working on now, redo it when you're older and send it in.

And also by that time you'll be able to not draw 'only girls'. ~_^ When i was your age, that was all i could draw too. Now I'm doing some yaoi/shounen ai doujinshi XD

OH...THANK YOU! I feel so fuzzy and warm....but see, I actually truly don't know what I will make quite yet, like you said....*sigh* Actually, I want to do something like Inuyasha that speaks of love, and like Rurouni Kenshin, on the virtures of life...Not something that only speaks of the philosiphy of friendship and how strong it can be. But something imaginative, that you really can relate to life...If you think about, manga is just sooo powerful! Oh, I feel funny....I think I'm geeting to myself...or else the coffee is comin' up.....'scuse me...... :D

hey you could only draw girls hey i can only draw boys ;) except if im copying im very good at copying(not tracing) but i also tried to make my own manga couple of time like in 8th grade i treid to make a spider man manga yes a manga and it was actually turning out ok untill i lost it, i tried so many times to make manga to but i never finish what i started its not that im lazy its just that one week i might have lots of confedence and draw real good but when i see that i drew real good and i stop because i just dont whant to ruin it with like bad drawings  . :D So To Boost Your Confedence I say kept on going with your manga and dont stop :D

it doesn't matter what your age is as long as the story + art is good
i'd like to do my own manga but i can never get a good enough idea -_-++
and sometimes i'm drawing really good then the next day i just can't draw at all it so bloody annoying!!

hope u come up with a good story action/comedy/romance is always good [its best to make people laugh]

good luck and go for it!

i'd like to see some of your drawing do u post them on a site or something?

also u should try to make the story short

once i did think of an alright story but it was too long and i gave up :(
u should start with a short story to keep the idea fresh but its still hard because it means the characters have less time to develope so make them a bit steriotypical [with a twist ;) ]

    again good luck

I also think you should post some of your manga. I bet it will be really good if you are thinking sbout publishers already. And if it makes you feel any better I couldn't draw guys at first either and even now they look really feminine..... And sometimes it's best not to have a art teacher by the way, my drawing (ya we have a class solely devoted to drawing) anyway my teacher wont let us draw manga, only realistic picures.
