    The Jedi Code

There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no death; there is the Force.

    The Sith Code

Peace is a lie, there is only passion
    Through passion I gain strength
    Through strength I gain power
    Through power I gain victory
Through victory my chains are broken
The Force shall set me free

As I read the Codes of the Orders, they seemed to have a connection in our everyday life. It seems to me that life as we live it is more on bond with the Sith Code.
Does this mean that by unintentionally following most of the Sith Code, we are evil? Or do people follow the Jedi Code?

In my opinion, the Sith Code is a more human way of life, thus the Jedi have no feeling. However, i think it means that Jedi are a bit evil. Considering they have no passion or emotion, they are more like machines. So if they were to kill some Sith, its like they dont care about it. They dont feel bad about it.

The Sith Code. The Sith Code defines a way a human really is only looking out for himself and annilating any that get in his way...It also defines me particularly well. I am not saying im total Sith but im about seventy percent sith there is some jedi in me. but barly that any can come out of me.

I follow the Jedi code. Although the Sith code is partially right, i would agree more with the Jedi Code.

None of them is wrong. In fact, both are right :p What I mean is that you have to choose which path to follow. I am already what the jedi would call an spoiled kid (I feel anger, envy, sadness, all of that 'passion'), but still I'd like to follow the Jedi code.

I shall choose wisely between the codes depending on the situation...
or for how long I would I would be willing to fight...

    should I fight with honour?
    should I fight vengefully?

why can't a Jedi master both sides of the force...?

Because they're totally incompatible. But of course you can develope both destructive and constructive powers. I guess that you mean the last one. However, they may differ depending on which code you follow... or none.

Actually, later on in the novels, it becomes evident that you can use either force side, but it's your intent that can corrupt you. Anywho, the Jedi code is similar to Buddhism. The Sith code holds many truths, both socialogically and in the natural world, but lends itself to corruption too easily. The Jedi Code can be taken too much as well. Both codes have issues.

Well, actually, it's not impossible for a Jedi to learn the powers of both the Light, and the Dark side of the Force. But if you were to be in, let's say...Dark Side. Then you are more compatible with powers like Force Lightning, Crush, Chocke, among others. But if you were in the Dark Side, and wanted to learn feats such as Force Heal, and Force Enlightment, it would be harder, and most likely impossible for you to master such powers, since they are not within you (like saying, they're not your "thing").

That's true. The only "disadvantage" that the Jedi's have, is that one can go to the Dark Side easier than they go (if they go) back to the light side.

I follow the Sith Code. It does apply to are lives more than the jedi code and most to if not all follow this path somewhat. As far as being good or bad and having a choice I would choose light the the sith code is just more real.

I like how everyone equates jedi with good, even though later on they were corrupt too.

The Sith Code. I find that it is more realistic to me, and those that claim to follow the Jedi code are hypocritical. That's only my opinion.

    (just remember to answer this....)

On what part of the history of Star Wars does this happen? And if the Jedi were to become corrupt, they'd be on the Dark Side wouldn't they?(not totally, but part of them would belong to the Dark Side, ergo not being a "Jedi)....

Ergo being Dark Jedi....not Sith. Sith and Dark Jedi are similar, but not the same.
Just because everyone on the movie...erm....Palpie and Ani...turned directly into Siths, doesent mean when a Jedi goes bad he becomes a Sith.

The Prequels. The Jedi had become complacent and dogmatic. For example...

OBI-WAN: But he still has much to learn, Master. His
abilities have made him... well, arrogant.

YODA: Yes, yes. It's a flaw more and more common among
Jedi. Too sure of themselves they are. Even the older, more
    experienced ones.

You're going to have to watch the films and think deeper in order to really notice this. It's also much more notable in books.
