Any one know of a good Pop-up blocker, one that blocks normal pop-ups and Windows Messenger pop ups?

I used to use Emerald Pop-Stop but they discontinued it. And it worked really well for me. But my computer recently crashed and I dont have the program.

IDK about windows messendger pop-ups, but the google toolbar has a pop-up blocker that works very well, and can be turned on and off.

    Here.

Ad Aware is, apparently, rather good. As mentioned before, FireFox has an inbuild popup blocker.

To block pop ups from messenger:

    Start > Run > Services.msc

And search for Messenger. Later choose propeties, start method - Disable.
After that, close down Messenger, och restart it, should disable the popups :)

    Windows Messenger

Ah, I understand now. See, if you disable it, you lose a special tool for networks. You can also install a good firewall as ZoneAlarm (Mine). It's default configuration blocks this kind of pop ups.

Windows' update - Service Pack 2 comes with an in-built pop-blocker which I find so far to be effective.

I use ZoneAlarm. That one could help you out!

Downloaded Firefox. And disabled Messenger. Thanks for that Teddz! It worked really well.

Opera is another very competent browser, and the one I use. Pioneer of the 'tabbed browsing' thing, and it includes a popup blocker of course :)

I second Opera, but it has caused some problems for me precisely because of some of the things that makes Opera nearly spyware/pop-up proof (no ActiveX controls). For example, GMail doesn't want to work with Opera. What can I do about that?
