Never ever ever feel secure about you're location when it comes to the net. I am in Canada, as is BakaMattSu.
Hasn't this thread dragged on enough? It's gone from the pope on Evangelion to Canada and insults....
He isn't bashing Canada. He's just saying he lives in Canada and hence should ignore "those far off".
Weee... lets all choke on bottlecaps. I did that once when I was little. Anyway, this is an Australian Christian magazine thing. I doubt the pope has anything to do with it, but maybe this is where your uninformed friend got the idea. ^_^ I quote: "More TV Trash for Today's Tots "Madman Entertainment" is releasing "Neon Genesis Evangelion" into Australia, through SBS television. This new animated television series, produced in Japan, is set in 2015, portraying "a handful of teenagers" as "unexpected saviors". The publicity says... "Over half of the earth's population is dead, victims of the first attack of a mysterious race of beings known as the Angels... Biblical prophecy, savage human drama and blistering hi-tech battle action collide in a spectacular orgy of violence and destruction... Prepare to be shocked... The ultimate battle for the future of mankind has begun!" The objective of the Angels "is to be one with Adam." The human race must now place its trust in the mysterious NERV agency and its awesome avatars*, the giant bio-mechanical Evangelions. Humanoid in form, these monstrous creations are the only force on Earth that can break through the Angels' Absolute Terror Fields long enough to literally tackle the massive invaders in bloody hand to hand combat!" (Info from Tricia, Oyster Bay, NSW) (*Ed: Avatar = Hindu term: descent of a god to earth in bodily form; incarnation) A TV set is on more than seven hours a day in the average household. (Christian View of the News, 9/98)" Here is the source. I'm not even Christian, but personally, is it wrong to not want kids watching it? I mean, honestly, if you took it to school or just about any religious group, they would be offended. Evangelion isn't exactly the thing you want twelve-year-olds to watch. And you'd be surprised how many of them do. As just a generalization, (did I spell that right?) most don't like getting involved in religious matters and science.
lol well as the above person has said this thread has dragged on for awhile so why dont we just close this and move on I was wrong fro believeing my friend and he has been forced to watch pokemon with his eyelids taped open for making me look like an idiot (quite easy thing to do actually) so lets close it and move on
