Recreation Prelude to (temporary) good bye!

    I'll be gone for the majority of the summer, starting about Thursday, in a place of scarce internet connections in the States, the place... South Dakota... I'll be working full time and the dial up is limited in my town so I'll be on an even more sparce posting schedule, keep in mind, you'll all be missed for the times I can't get on, and for those of the Denver Expedition, I'll try to make it, but if I get a job that doesn't allow it... I can't promise anything, but I'll try hard!
    In other UK related news... I just finished my Japanese Final today.. err... yesterday actually now... I was fairly pleased with it, 400 Kanji from which they drew sentances and paragraphs for us to translate, vocabulary both ways, dictation and a multiple-choice grammar section (which actually makes the grammar harder...) but all is passed now and I feel I did fairly well.
    *UK breathes a long deep breath of relief*
    Anyhow, don't let my absence get in the way of the great thing we have here... Keep it up with #M2A on enterthegame.com... I'll be more stably connected when I get back in this desert valley in September.

    Hey man, congrats. Omedeto. Whichever. And greatest luck in the summer as well. I know lots of people here will be hard pressed to fill in what could probaby fill in on M2A, but I know I'll try hard :D.

    Secondly (?), good job on the Japanese final too. <shudders> Multiple choice kanji...

    Lastly, have fun, eh? It ain't cool to be going somewhere and not have fun...even *if* work is in the way.

    the kanji weren't multiple choice actually, we were given sentances with underlined kanji and told to give the reading (in kana, naturally) and translation of the compound... for that section, then some readings and translations were put on the board and we were told to write the kanji for them.
    I plan to have as much fun as I can, I haven't been there in about 3 years for any signifigant amount of time.

    Whilst you are away I cannot think I could ever find anyone to take your place as the great inspiring lecturer you are...

    Hopefully you'll still be able to pop in now and then during the summer... and if not, that's cool.

    Update!

    I recently talked with UK, and it appears he'll be a little more disposed than we had hoped. He's spending this summer "communing with nature", so seeing him on the boards at all would be a rare treat.

    Wish you well with your summer employment, UK, and we'll miss ya! :)

    Well, not quite camping, but close. My job this summer takes me all the way out to the far southwestern portions of ND, Bowman, for those members who know the state. I'm taking surveys of songbirds and the vegitation they use for cover. A large portion of the day I spend walking along a 50m tape measure writing down plant measurements (sage brush, mainly) then I bird watch for an hour or two in the early morning (dawn-type hours). I'll be more able to get my email than get on the boards, but I'm trying, like today, I can get on because I'm home for a few days on break.
    *notices the handcuffs with Lime attached to his leg*
    ^_^v uh...that couldn't have been fun with all the prickly pear cactus I've been walking in...
    Anyhow, I'm doing fine, and I'll be returning in full force at the end of the summer at least, but until then, I'll come online whenever I get the opportunity!
