Has anyone heard of this anime/manga? Has anyone seen it? (Other than the evil-noodle) If you haven't, then you should try out a few episodes. While not an engrossing story, it's always fun to watch.

It's pretty much about a Tennis Club that goes on tournaments and stuff, and their road to success. The main character is a freshman (Echizen Ryoma) that turns out to be one of the best there is. Of course, there are other cool guys too. Like, Kikumaru, Oishi, Momoshiro, Tezuka, Fuji, Eiji....etc. It fits into the anime/manga stereotype by doing these "specialty moves" that no one else can seem to emulate very well.

Again, the storyline isn't that strong...but it's fun to watch an anime every now and then where storyline is a simple "winning the tournament" thing. That, and the omake and filler episodes are always funny to watch, at least on Prince of Tennis.

There are other sports anime/manga similar out there. Boxing has Hajime no Ippo, Golf has one, Street Racing has two in Over Rev and Initial D, etc etc. Granted most of these aren't as deep and mindblowing as the series normally posted in these forums...but it's still a great aniem to watch. If only to being more people into actually trying out a sport instead of watching anime ALL the time. *winku*

I've seen the first episode of the fansub version. I got it cuz I wondered how anime would portray tennis, which was one of the sports I played in high school. (I was really junk, cuz I was the only one with no experience.) But I know the feeling of tennis, so it was interesting to see it in anime.

Tennis no Ojisama (or something close to that). I've seen a preview of it on the internet and read a few articles on it. It looks really interesting, but I haven't seen any episodes in anime stores or online. Got Links?

Yes, it's actually called Tennis no Ojisama, but I think Prince of Tennis suits it more. Well, probably because of the "Prince" pun, because...y'know...Prince is a brand of tennis rackets and all. ^_^

I am currentily watching it. I really am enjoying it. I like the parts with the juice it adds a nice comic relief. Sad thing is that it has been licensed. So it may take others some time.

I am almost on episode 90. Started watching it 10 days ago. What? I like my anime. :p

    I heard about this:
The Prince of Tennis: The National Tournament (OAV)

I think it is only 3 episodes. Aired in March this year.

    Cool there is a movie.
