@_@ my PS2 is letting me down. I"ve recently bought several games such as Kingdom of Hearts, and Onimusha 2. They are brand new, and my dumb PS2 gives me disk read ERRORS! Grrr Anyone had the same problem or solved it in any way?

ummm Is your PS2 PAL version or a different version?

If you bought it with the first shipment of PS2s that came stateside, then it's the laser. The newer PS2s don't have that problem. If it *is* a newer PS2, then it's defective also. The newer ones have a new serial code for their reader/ROM drive...and thus is a different laser/lens altogether. If you just want it repaired, it costs something to the order of 150 bucks if it's past the 90 day warranty. I'd just say buy a new one, because that 150 bucks only REPAIRS is. Get a new one, less trouble, and it's *not* repaired.

My PS2 is PAL and my games are all original PAL games. No imports, only domestic games, I always check whether they are NTSC or PAL...

I think it's more of the laser problem like Izzy said. I preordered mine and it was with the first shipment.
Thanx for the advice Izzy :)

yea I have been getting disk erorrs on mine too, but it seems to only happen when I play DVD movies. I do not think it has happen with a PS2 game yet, maybe a PSone game though. I just think I need to get a lens cleaner kit and it will fix the problem. That is what I would advise you to get too, Skuld. And just for note, I bought mine in Febraury 2002, when they were still 300 bucks. I should have waited until May and got it gor 200, oh well.
