Computers Programs for faster Downloading

ok, heres the deal.
i have 56k.
i like to download stuff. movies, anime, pr0n(jk) ect ect.
i have 56k.
see my problem?
well, i was just wondering, is there any programs i can get to speed up my downloading speed?
like, i dont care if it slows down the loading of web pages, i just wanna download faster.
oh, and is there a program i can download to speed up kazaa?
any help will be greatly apreciated

There's a few, Download Accelerator is the one that I remember, but each and every one of the download tools you find is likely to be riddled with spyware. For Kazaa, there's a tool called SpeedUp, also spyware-laden.

Honestly though, your best bet is to get cable, or convince your parents to get cable. Even with an accelerator program, the VERY VERY BEST download speed you will EVER see is 20Kb/s. Your AVERAGE speed, IF you are lucky, is gonna be about 9~11Kb/s.

Cable is maybe $20 a month more than you pay now for your dialup, and the speeds of it are so much faster you'll think you died and went to bandwidth heaven. DSL, too, but I'm not as familiar with the speeds on it so I can't personally vouch for it.

so, i cant really get Cable.
i wish i could.

plus there are download limits.

i downloaded KAZOOM.
it make it faster but it seems to resume all my downloads.
like even the ones ive paused.

I might as well find out for myself, but will this Kazoom also work for people, like myself, who have a very very slow DSL connection?

 

kazaa is dah best, i recomend it to anyone !

Search google for K++. Its the complete deal for ad-free, free downloads, with the options of keeping downloads paused and such.

 

I Prefer Direct Connect...has alot more stuffs than kazaa
but basiclly, u need a big hard disk...say around 20-???? GB

 

you'd be damn lucky to get on a good dc server with 20 gigs shared. All my hubs are min 40-50.

and afaik, theres no program that you can get that will actually SPEED UP 56k downloads, once again afaik its not possible.

Kazoom and other tools like that can however help you get the best of your connection, ie max it out.

Depending on your connection speed tho, this can range between 3-5 kbps, usually.
