I don't know how to pronounce some words from animes correctly, so I thought that this would be the best place to ask.
    Some are:
    Kare Kano
    Evangelion
    Rurouni
and....uh...if I remeber more, I'll ask. So please help.

    Yes, it is Kefka.
Thanks for the help on the pronunciations.
The fact that you knew who it was kinda scares me.

The key to pronouncing Japanese words are to know what sounds the vowels make. "A" makes a sound like "Ah," E makes a sound like "Ay," or like the "a" in "cake." "I" makes an "ee" sound, O makes a long "oh" sound, and u makes a sound like "oo" in "food." Also, r's sound a lot like the letter L, which is why they sometimes mix our r's and l's up (check out engrish.com if you don't know what I'm talking about).

    I hope that helps somewhat.

    Actually, I hope I'm correct ^_^

Actualy, Kare Kano is kah-reh kah-noe and Evangelion is Ee-van-geh-lee-on(or if you want it to be japanese then eh-bah-nn-geh-ree-oh-nn).

We all have sore memories of the televangelists.

I don't know about everyone, but I find it helps to say the hard "ge" so I don't get confused or confuse others.

Japanese pronounce everything according to their alphabet. That is, they usually pronounce it two-by-two.
    So, kirei would be Kee-reh-ee
    Hidoi would be Hee-do-ee.

The only exceptions are a, e, o, u and n, i think. Because those are represented by themselves by a single hiragana. By knowing that, i find it pretty easy to pronounce japanese sentences. :)

Hint for pronunciation: If you can speak, um, Spanish, try pronouncing stuff in Japanese like you would in it (except the G and J and H and Z...)

Actually, kirei can also be read kee-reh-eh (double the "eh" sound). Just like with, using your name as an example, Kirei-san, kimyou -- it can be kee-myo-oh, and sometimes heard as kee-myo-wo (like in a few Sailormoon songs...).

    Fun, idn't it? ^^

I've always said Evangelion with a hard G as in Goat, as that's how the german word Evangelium is pronounced.

Poor Exiz, everone just keeps saying you're wrong. It's kinda sad.

Let's just all get along and stick to "Eva." I think we've all said that about the same.

Moving on: in most cases "ei" is pronounced like "ee", though when sung, they are separated, the same goes for "ou (oo)".

With basically the exception of English, Vowels are pronounced the same, with differences in inflection and diphthongs. eg: "a" as in "father", "i" as in "sweet", "u" from "moo", "e" from "day", and "o" from "go".

Well, accent makes this harder too ^^
Oftenly, "i" is left out in sentences. So, kirei would actually be kire.
Another thing you often hear is that "u" is left out. Like desu sounds like des.
    Katsu sounds like kats.

    Also good to know ^^
