question on reutation

    I know the 1-3 is member 4silver is moderator and 5 silver is super moderators and 5 gold stars are admins. But how do you get a star. :confused:

    hmm from my thinking perspective i think to get higher stars you have to post a lot and get rep or for mods you get that instantly thats what i think i dont truly know but if im wrong then im wrong i wouldn't mine knowing how to get a two or three star

    1 regular star= Registered User (Just join)
    2 regular stars=Still Registered User (More than 100 posts, I believe)
    3 regular stars=Power User (250 posts and 50 reputation points)
    3 silver stars=Game Master (Host a Forumed game at the RPG Section)
    4 silver stars=Moderator (Unknown to me)
    5 silver stars=Super Moderator (Self explained)
    5 gold stars=Administrator (Cloud and BakaMattSu only)

    As for how you get to be a Moderator...I dont think I can answer that question with accuracy for you. As far as I know, you're chosen by Cloud, I believe. You cant just upgrade to Moderator account whenever you wish.


    I also had a question myself. Are there really any prequisites to becoming a moderator? This might answer some of you questions as well Ashika.

    Kaiyon, I think you've nailed it. You're pretty much dead-on accurate. As for how to become a mod, yes, only Cloud and BakaMattSu can grant it, and it's not an easy thing to do. And, at this time, I don't believe we are in need of additional moderators. :p

    a good way to guarrentee you won't be a mod is to ask to be one.
    we ALL talk about it and then in the end, we're ignored and matt or cloud decides.

    we usually look for people that have a good history with the boards. (don't ask about neph though. he's just a bastard that snuck in ^^)
    usually, we snag people we know will be good for the job. and well, yeah we have a small army of mods, 2 super mods(me and zanza-chu), and 2 admins. i think we're set for a good long while.

    Ignored is such a strong word. Mind you, Cloud and I are the final decision makers, but we do listen to what members of the team and the general public have to say and take it into consideration. Many of my larger decisions boardwide have been in direct reaction to user suggestions or requests. Most of the Moderators that make up the current team were "screened" one way or another based on the team's opinions of each individual.

    In the end, Boards.jp is as much mine as it is yours - we all occupy the same webspace.

    Bloodberry does make a good point, however. If you're Moderator material, it should be evident through your actions and not because you called attention to yourself - requesting to become a Moderator is not always the best route to take.
