In eps. 24 and 25 there's a little poem (or at least I think it's a poem) that begins with the line below:

    The young man ponders:
"What's on the other side of the rainbow?"

I was wondering if it's a specific reference to anything in literature.

Isn't that a reference to the Wizard of Oz?

Considering the Neomesopotamia is headed for Earth, which could be considered a strange world...

    dunno.

Before Newton stated that light is formed by every visible color, it was supposed by many religions that the rainbow was a bridge between heaven and earth. Then someshing could be decyphered from it

Also, the title of phase 24 is "the girls who run on the rainbow"

    It's reference to Hana's literature. :p

Actually, not sure if you caught it, but Hana's first publication was to be the literary retelling of Otaru and the girls' story. As he recites the poem, he puts the finishing touches on the story.

Strange, considering how much he seems to portray a hatred towards the marionettes, but we see him actually show some caring aspects when things go wrong.

In reference to literature, this one seems very vague, and could reference anything. Rainbows have tons of legends. Here's a take:

One Japanese Creation Story Myth details Izanagi and Izanami (the first man and woman) descending the rainbow bridge of heaven to stir a primeval ocean and create the island of Japan. Without any specific J to X spoilage, this could be in relation to Terra II's "creation", the natural coupling of men and women to come. Furthermore, the bridge to heaven is described as being a rainbow, so it naturally could follow they are on there way to such a destination.
